I really hope they go back and rescore some of these episodes for the blu ray releases. The past few episodes have felt a little let down by a lack of or just kinda meh soundtrack choices. This episode especially is kinda a masterclass in how you really do need a banging soundtrack to truly make a scene slap, even with fucking insane animation and direction

What Shida is to most people, Onishi is to me. This guy really hyped me tf up and leveled up my viewing experience, as soon as I saw Goku's first punch in his cut I got goosebumps. The other artists did GREAT too!

While the episode as a whole had me a little mixed, Onishi’s sequence is absolutely mind blowing and had me feeling the same way I felt watching Goku vs Broly in the Broly movie. When watching the episode live I was thinking “this is Vincent Chansard!!! They really got him!!” and it wasn’t him but I feel similarities in his work alongside Katsumi Ishizuka’s as you mentioned. Absolutely amazing work, maybe one of his best, and while Daima itself isn’t always super insane, scenes like this make me very happy and thankful that we got a good schedule for the show

A funny comment on a YT Naotoshi Shida AMV said "A lot of great animators have the 'shi' letter in their names." When I thought about it, it's hilarious how coincidentally accurate that was even though it's a VERY common Japanese letter (Onishi, Takashi, Shida, Nashizawa, Ishigami, Katsuyoshi, Takeshi, etc).

I couldn't stop laughing at the Jiren/Broly stance in the middle of it and the fact that Gomah literally looks like Pride Trooper Broly (Devil Artemis) but with Gomah's Head on top and.. alot larger. fantastic episode once the snowball started rolling for sure.

While I watched the episode the Goku and Duu section(except the Morita cut) made me afraid the climax was gonna be underwhelming but by the time Goku went Super Sayan 3 I was more so afraid I was having a heart attack!

I could forgive Yamamuro here as it's not the main event, and Majin Duu's fighting style suits the slower pacing of the bout. Like Majin Duu, Yamamuro's usually the best when he's the opening act. This is where Ryo Onishi being the finale is outright PERFECT as it sets up the stakes and creates a narrative for the fate of the Demon Realm, and no one will know for certain who would win due to a constant shift in power.

I’m glad the second half delivered because the first half had me ready to give up on this show. Despite all of Daima’s positives it has convinced me of one thing, even under the best circumstances I don’t want Toei handling this property anymore. There are shows with much MUCH less pre-production and much less talent on board that are paced better and consistently move better. Everything went right, yet Super’s problems with repetitive story beats and high highs surrounded by nothing of substance are still present and I hate that. I was ready to call this my favorite Dragon Ball story by episode 4, but little by little that good will gave way. I hope the ending is awesome, but I really wanted the whole thing to be.

Something I didn't hear mentioned was the CG effects from Gohma's magic on the rocks. The effects didn't really blend that well to me with the rest of the show, and kind of broke my suspension of disbelief a little whenever some stones became a central focus of the action.

I mean onishi and the others are good and all but I’m still not seeing some of the S tier premium quality animation toei gave one piece’s wano arc. Why do we always see the same names working on DB but one piece gets animators like akihiro ota, weilin zhang, shuu sugita, etc etc.. DB needs more god tier animators

My little heart felt how slow the first chunk of the episode was. But all of that disappointment was swept away. I love Gomahs pursuit of Vegeta around the coiled pillar. The closing transformation artwork of the episode was superb.

He's actually been all over the place since 2018! Worked on a Precure movie, was an Animation Director on two new Digimon anime, One Piece Stampede, and now Tosochu. Key Animation on all those and then One Piece Film Red, the Kitaro movie, and various little things here and there. He isn't on Daima because he's still working on Tosochu, sadly.

Hot take, i didnt really like this episode direction, i hate what modern animators do when they "spin" the camera non-stop and fill the entire screen with endless lights and cubes, i understand effort goes into this but whats the point when you can barely follow what is happening? you didnt see this type of problems in older anime, endless freedom and new tools only created a worse result. there is also the problem of the antagonist being completely boring (and what a coincidence he has the same outfit as jiren!) all of this moments that are supposed to feel big but just feels underwhelming, only the SSJ3 goku reveal at the end made me feel anything thanks to nostalgia.

The final part was indeed pretty cool but for most of the episode i was really, really disapointed. Everything was janky-ish and lacked impact. Hairs never moved even at high speed jesus what a letdown. Thanks god the last part is good.

I just can't get into this kids show. I became somewhat intrigued after seeing the first episode redrawing dbz but everything since then has a generic, cutesy, shiny, rounded art style that does not lend itself well to immersion, dramatic tension, serious moments, or nerve-wracking fights. Them being kids again doesn't help but the original DB' art style was still able to achieve all those things in the King Piccolo saga despite Goku being a kid. Boruto looks more like DBZ art style at this point than actual new DB content in Super, the super movies, and this mini series.

I'm inclined to believe that Yamamuro is throwing a tantrum for being replaced on Broly. I mean, how can a veteran like him fall this low? If not for that whole senpai thing in Japan, that guy would've been out of a job after Fukkatsu no F. Great second half though. Those smears that suddenly started to show up every 5 seconds gave Onishi away right away. And thank you for the heads up about spoilers next week. I have a feeling of what it might be but I hope the algorithm keeps me away from Geekdom.

Clearly not the case since his animations in earlier episodes look quite solid. He likely just overstretched himself, he's in his 60s and he's extremely hard working, even if his art isn't good.

@@MissingPikaNohis art is fine , but in this ep the animation dropped than what it was in earlier eps ,but these people hates him this much to the point they are waiting for one negative thing about him to start there attacks, I already saw about 3+ comments on him , while the earlier ep non opened his mouth.
