My guy. Of course the anime is rushed. The gameplay is way longer. And yes blood is pink for two reasons: -Less age restricted (Japan is very strict about violence in games. Making the blood pink means lowering the ratings) -Pop art (the enviroment is cartoonish) Danganronpa is a good game if you like murder mysteries with pop culture. Sometimes it takes itself too seriously but I recommend it if you like character interactions between absurd situations/personalities.

The second and some parts of the third game is where the series really hits its stride, and yeah, obviously, the games are 1000 times better, the main reason there’s no character development is because they are adapting a 30+ hour VN into a 6 hour anime, DR IF is definitely the best of the first cast as they (mostly) use their brain dealing with the threat of Mukuro, this is one of those cases where there is just no logistical way to adapt the game as it is just wayyyyyyy too long

I just happened to look at the channel & saw DR. I dropped what I was doing. lol I know you said you probably wouldn’t play the games. As someone who’s played all of them yeah I would say unless you gotta lotta free time just watch a walkthrough or something if you feel up to it because the games are LOOOONG. & the second part of the whole series is only a game. Loved the video as always! Also thank you for hating byakuya. That resonates with me so much I can even forgive you for talking bad about asahina.

Can confirm the game isn't any better. I can see why middle/high schoolers would like it - for their age group it's a mature, dark story. They can put themselves in the characters' shoes better. But having played the game as an adult, I immediately realized that I was too old for it.

Valid. DR has alot of flaws but I personally would like it more if they just ended it on DR2 and not the mess of a game of DR3(even though i like the characters in DR3 way more than DR1)

The game is an overall better product than the animation. So I don't know what your are smoking. But other than that. I don't think a dude with an anime cat girl pfp should be going on about "Being too old" for a fucking videogame

@Student.oftheRing ackshully I'm a woman and Tamamo is a fox girl. But anyway, if you enjoy it as an adult that's great. There's still stories set in high school that I enjoy - I'm playing a romance VN with teenage characters right now and enjoy it immensely. But DR was a little too adolescent for me, especially when in post game you get all the characters' underwear for raising your bond with them. I felt the character development during the main story was lacking and I didn't connect with any of the characters. Everything felt rushed and shallow, but again I can see younget audiences not minding that. I probably would've really liked DR if I got into it when I was 13.

the game is much better the anime is pretty stiff but the first game has alot of interesting concepts good art and likable characters if their free time events really do help you enjoy them but the main issue with free time events is that alot of them you won't be able to see so just go to the wiki and read some of them are boring like yaushiros but a few of them are really interesting if you wanna see why people like dr so much there's videos by nezumiva on why the franchise is so great

Ive constantly heard how horribly awful the anime is so ive never even touched it 😭 I really do like the games though. Its such a shame that people's first or only impression is the anime. Even though dr isnt some artistic masterpiece, its still my favorite game series right now. But considering that my obsession before dr was Homestuck, maybe my standards for media isnt exactly the best lmao. (Sdr2 is absolutely the best imo. And I don't actually mind v3.)

@@marsstrider6220 The first anime isn't that bad it introduced me to the games back in 2016. I was watching a lot of vn anime but DR1A got me interested in the games (which almost never happens btw). The DR3 anime exclusives are bad imo. The problem with DR1A is it's rushed. Wish every DR got an anime summery tho. I have now a love/hate relationship with danganronpa now that I'm more mature and I realize so many things that could've been made better but it's still a story I love to deep dive in.

yeah the Anime adaptation suffers the opposite issue of the games where stuff is rush while in the game it take like 5 hours just to get to the first death and the blood color is that way due to the creators style known as psycho pop it had very little censorship concerns hes just weird.

Trust me Makoto is sooo much less whiny in the game and SOOOO MUCH BETTER IN FUTURE ARC I SWEAR and togami is more bearable in Future Arc as well I’ve seen everything about this series as of I am the age group that enjoys this and being an overly creative person for some fucking reason (save me🙏) I have 5 DR fan games and I’m gonna work my ass off to try to make their experience better than what Spike had in mind

i dont think what you described is actually true. they're more "abridged" in the anime for run times, but they really aren't all that different in the way they act (except future arc, he is a bit more mature since hes an adult) if whininess is a problem just dont watch in jp lol

The pink blood was a stylistic choice because horror wasn’t popular in Japan so they had too remove a lot of horror aspects from the game and the red blood came with it

from what i heard the blood is pink in the games because the devs thought the game would be too brutal and well censorship so the anime to stay into the canon they kept the blood pink

The game is a million times better, I honestly have no clue why they decided condensing a 50 hour game into a 13 episode anime was a good idea in the slightest
