Just ike Nux said, Meruem is probably more human than most humans. His journey as a character is probably one of my favorite, and his death is most likely one of the saddest scenes in HxH. P.S. The HxH theme song in the background peerfectly suits this video and is quite nostalgic.

I'm a simple person I see HxH and I click. Jokes aside, Meruem is the perfect example or even the definition, of character development. He was introduced to be hated in the beginning, and in the end you are kinda, or fully, rooting for him and crying for him. He was more human than the humans themselves, and in some point you kinda feel that he is the protagonist of his own story, where the humans are the antagonist. He was born as a monster, and he died as a human. The Chimera Ant's arc ended in a ""happy"" note. The "good" guys defeated the "bad" guys, they won, they "saved" humanity. And yet you are not happy about it, you feel either bittersweet or completely broken inside and choking on tears. Amazing video, you reminded me why I loved so much characters like Meruem or Pain

I loved the naruto vs pain arc. I grew up watching naruto since the beginning at a younger age. I stopped watching for a while and then came back. Watching the characters I grew up with and loved face off with pain and die hit me very hard. At first I hated pain. But the more you learn the more you relate and feel sympathy. During his cycle of pain speech I couldn’t disagree with him and neither could naruto. By the end of narutos talk no juts and the change that nagato went through because of naruto, I was crying. This show I had watched for years and all the characters I loved during this part was incredible. I was more mature by this point and couldn’t believe what I watched just hit me that hard. And for this we thank you 👏👏

I've always loved the main villain of Fullmetal Alchemist, The Homunculus or Father. No other character has ever truly embodied human ambition and drive for understanding and control. The scene where he confronted by Truth always hits me right in the gut. The realization that some things cannot be controlled and understood. Father differs from Edward and Alphonse in that he finds fear amidst the unknown while our heroes see beauty and opportunity.

the dynamic of Bai Yin and Bai Jin from Karakuri Circus is very similar to what you are talking about with the dynamic of Mob and President! Yin and Jin are literally brothers who loved each other and had very similar interests, almost like they were the same person, but their different perspectives on a girl created generations of suffering, even though they both had good intentions. Jin unknowingly became the villain and not being able to have this girl lead to the birth of the Automata who killed hundreds of thousands of people, just because Jin wanted this one girl to laugh and be happy. Karakuri Circus is very interesting in my opinion, I haven't heard you mention it before, I would recommend it Nux Taku!

well, I relate to Netero, he's not your typical of idealistic hero, and he's not a villain either, he is just a hunter.. the way he told Meruem that he didn't understand about anything, is just so good, I can't help but chuckle and smile, he lived way too long to witness all that, which gives Murem, the pinnacle of the animals, the strongest monster in that arc, fear for the first time which comes from a dying wrinkling disabled very very very old man and also at the time when he arrived on the empty land, he said to Meruem, "this is a grave,........your grave......."

@@FrankieH-79 I wouldn't call freeza a bad written antagonist just because he ain't sympathetic and you see him as uninteresting and unrealistic. A lot of people are under the notion that sympathetic Villains are more "Realistic" I firmly disagree with that.Freeza grew up raised by king cold and was told he could do whatever he liked to the planets they conquered.I have personally met my fair share of little ingrates who adore the idea of being above their fellow classmates so much and lash out in anger or even violence when challenged, corrected or asked to do something they don't want to do because at home they get what they want.They're not dumb.In fact some are quite talented in certain areas.This is just how they think of the world around them. The problem people should have with freeza is that he doesn't have a backstory of him going up and showing him being a product of the environment.And Freeza being a product of that environment makes its hard for him have complex ideologies.

Sound in theory but the centralized authority will be inevitably corrupted due to human nature and will them be abused and pervert the original model. At least Ozymandius accounted for that by handing off the authority and responsibility to an immortal, uninvolved, transcendent, and altruistic God, Dr. Manhattan.

I was a success. I was someone that people gathered around. People I had never spoken to knew my name. Mob Psycho changed my view of focusing on my skills and just trying to make a mark on the world. I needed to do that to feel complete. This series convinced me to broaden my skill sets and actually try to make friends-- something I've never tried before because people came to me. It didn't work. The skills I am trying to build don't attract people. By neglecting my talents I missed out on critical opportunities and my life has been considerably set back. I am more alone than ever, and now that I place value in bonds it hurts more than it ever would have. I guess it is my fault for letting a comic book shape my life to such a degree, or maybe I took things a step too far (mob doesn't *neglect* his powers, per-se)... This series changed my life in a number of ways though, and I may need to reevaluate if it really has the right ideas.
