I used to work in a place in Kentucky for students with dyslexia & related issues. One of the things we had kids do was draw a timeline on two 8 1/2" x 11" (21.59 cm x 27.94 cm) sheets of paper, horizontally, going back to first *historically* recorded events, which basically requires writing. Then in passing we'd remark that if we wanted enough paper to get back to DINOSAUR TIMES, the paper would reach the Moon. The city had a religious fun park with cave men riding T-rexes and other Mesozoic creatures. You can imagine the occasional parental blowback but fortunately or unfortunately our students were still on the learning curve of visualizing words and verbalizing the pictures they made from those words...so a lot fell through the cracks.

It doesn't actually show any real critical thinking skills as it's a bit contradictory anyways (God created man in his image. So God doesn't have a belly button? But the rest of us do? Pretty bad logic imo). And it doesn't actually really have transferable skill or application in business outside of maybe a bit of problem solving that is more useful for riddles and wordplay than anything that's useful in most real situations.

Imagine being attacked by A HUNDRED duck sized horses. With a horse sized duck, you can hide in a place that's small enough for you to fit but not big enough for the duck. The other advantage is that the duck is a big target if your going to hit it with something. The advantage with fighting a hundred duck sized horses is that if you can get high enough, they can't reach you.

To explain the clock one! Let's look at half a day. The result from the half day will be two times it. Let's start at 12:00. For every hour, the minute hand and the hour hand overlap once - near n:n*5 for n between 1 and 11 (10 possible solutions) and 12:00 for n equal to 12 (it's not exactly then since the hour hand would have moved by the time the minute hand reaches the minute, but it's a nice approximate). When we reach 12:00 again, we are now entering the second half of the day and we can't count it towards our count. (It's easier to imagine this if you are counting the second half rather than the first half - at 00:00, you are starting a new day and can't count it towards the result). We end up with a result of 11. Afterwards, we multiple by 2 and get 22! The full half day set would be [00:00, 01:05, 02:10, 03:15, 04:20, 05:25, 06:30, 07:35, 08:40, 09:45, 10:50, 11:55]. The full dull day set would be it plus the other half of the day (which you get by adding 12 to the hour values of the first set). Bringing us a total of 22!

Time 8:00 I calculated the moon question cuz I was curious. And my answer came out to be that you would have to fold 35 times. (assuming that the moon is at 384,400 km distance from the earth) Explanation: Standard equation for exponential growth is N=bxg^t (N= thickness of the paper after folding) (b= thickness of the paper 1mm or 0.0001 km) (g= growth factor) (^t= amount of times you are folding the piece of paper) So that would give the following equation… 384,400=0.00001x2^t For the next step you will need your fancy high school calculator. Enter the following: y_1=0.00001x2^t and y_2=384,400 Then determine where the to graphs cross. You’ll get approx. 35. Which means you would have to fold the piece of paper 35 times to get a thickness of 384,400 km. Let me know if any of you got the same answer as I did! 💜💜💜💜💜💜🤓💜

@Deathisdark053 жыл бұрын
It did get into a controversy a few years ago, but it was more around the fact that their hiring process does not guarantee that you are even getting someone who can actually help you. It was pointed out that their terms of service were VERY suspicious because it basically admitted at one they hire anyone, not licensed professionals. Moreover, people started coming out with terrible experiences about the service. I don’t personally know if there was anything about the payment process for people who did it, but I know Pewdiepie has a good video on it and he was likely why anyone started realizing how suspicious the company was. I don’t know why ANYONE is advertising this again. As much as I think people who do it may be coming from a good place, it’s beyond reckless when this company was already called out years ago and a simple search on youtube would have told them that.

Actually for a university I thought about doing a Bachelor's in (ended up choosing another uni, because that one seemed too posh) they asked questions like this during the interview. Also stuff like "How many deodorants are bought in Finland every day" or "How much of the Chinese population fits into the Bodensee (a lake)?" Pretty much they just want to see if you can logically come to an estimate.

I reckon the first question is about how astute you are to detail less creativity. Since they said we were shrunken and loss our mass. But they also said we maintain our original density. Which means we're a very hard/dense material. We're dense enough to cut the glass blender. Since it feels odd that they would mention that it was made of glass.

Seems to me the answer to the blender question would be to crouch on the head of the screw holding the blades. It doesn't spin and by making yourself as small as possible, you reduce the centrifugal effects of the blades.

Recently, I had a dream that Ollie was the Doctor, and he'd taken Josh to a planet where they party 24/7 because the planet just has a planet-sized beach, and the day only lasts a really short time so you could just watch the sun rise and set and then party through the night. Then Ollie takes out these colourful pellets called Yern pellets, and tells Josh, "These are just like portable fireworks!" And then he sets them off, and it reacts with something in the planet's atmosphere and the whole place starts to burn up, and people start chasing them, shouting at them for unauthorised use of Yern gas.

you just reminded me of a dream I had a while ago featuring Josh and Olly where I was sitting in the backseat of the Queen's car that Olly bought, speeding down the motorway at almost 200 kmph like, at plane take off speed. Josh is holding the steering wheel straight and steady while Olly in the shotgun is preparing something and I’m in the back seat like oh my lord and the police are right behind us blaring their sirens for speeding and there’s a car ahead of us that we are rapidly closing distance with and will hit if we don’t do something quick, and at the very last minute when we about to collide with the car in front, Olly presses a button and this car goes straight up in the air 10 metres high and sprouts plane wings and rocket thrusters and takes off into the sky like iron man HAHAHAHHAAH and Josh and olly just screaming like Ron and Harry in that flying car scene in Harry Potter. Anyway, I woke up like yeah that's 100% something they'd do LMAO.

As someone who grew up in Silicon Valley I learned most of these when I was little. My mother would often help me st would be like how many time do you need to fold a paper to idk. She would ask me the moon question the clock question and the ask me what 3x4 was and obviously I didn’t know.

OK THE MOON QUESTION TOOK ME BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL We had that as a question for a Maths B (which i think is calculas, idk I can't remember, it's Australia's old education system) exam in grade 12 and we had to use some maths formula to figure it out. After the exam we told the teacher that you physically can't fold a piece of paper a paper in half and than half again and so on more than 7-12 times and HE DIDNTBELIEVE US so we showed him using a big poster and sure enough, we were hard-pressed to fold the paper more than 7 times, and he was all ITS CAUSE ITS THIN CARDBOARD. By the end of the class we still hadn't convinced him and I remember being so frustrated lol
