To be completely honest, i dont need my games to be "anti woke" as if this was some sort of magical balancing act where in you can "cancel out" the wokeness by simply going in the opposite direction. I just need my games to NOT be woke. Aka stop having meaningless sections in your games where you play as a deaf girl vandalizing a street corner (yes this was meaningless and the fact that the devs felt it necessary to have in the game speaks volumes as to just how much political brain rot has settled into their cortex) for the sake of being able to check a box and proudly proclaim that you featured a deaf girl playable in your game. If this hypothetical Patriot console came out, it would sell 100 or less units, there would be 10 games and they’d all be hyper-political side-scrolling shooters and Call of Duty ripoffs. The console would cost about $15 to manufacture but sell for $650, have less processing power than an Atari VCS and yet be presented as if it were the deal of the century. Everyone but the 100 people that bought them would forget the console exists in a week or two, the console would lose millions of dollars while the players and the company that made it declare it’s a smashing success, but they’d paradoxically blame the console’s failure on woke culture, politics and gay people. I am all for having characters in games that are not white or that are gay... I am a bisexual atheist. My issue is all of the additional baggage that is attached to it... the censorship, the inability to add offensive humor.... That is what I have an issue with. Personally, I think the biggest mistake a developer can make is to try to appeal to everyone whilst compromising the core of your game. There will be games that aren't liked by everyone, and that is ultimately what makes games good in the first place. At the same time, I hate social conservatives and the idea of videogames forcing an ideology based on patriotism, nationalism, and religious extremism just as much as I hate the idea of extreme DEI with an extra emphasis on censorship. Neither extreme is good, and I think we need to usher in an era of games that are more beautiful than Elden Ring by more offensive than South Park.

To paraphrase the Joker quote before the Joker shoots Murray, 'You... the system who knows so much, you decide what is right or wrong... in the same way you decide what is funny and what is not'. This is what that voice in the DEI community seeks to do.... and in doing so they prevent the developers of games from making certain points or telling certain jokes. On a more relevant note, this game console would be horrifying if it were made... especially if it produced AAA games that spewed nationalistic garbage. You could even make the WKUK skit with the time machine into its very own game, where you use a time machine to stop 9/11.... but you could make the game as long as Chrono Trigger. You could have other titles that are similar to Team America: World Police, but it would take itself dead serious. I'm morbidly curious to see what kind of games consoles like these would have. They'd probably be terrible for the same reason X-Box and Playstation's are in the opposite direction. You'd still not be selling games. You'd be selling agendas and you'd still mindlessly pandering. I find this video to be quite funny, but your audience in the US isn’t the stereotype you’re describing. Most of us lean left on inclusion and tolerance issues I’m sure. At least I hope we do lol. Even in my native state of Mississippi, I truly feel like I came from a very tolerant and free thinking group. I don’t personally have a problem with the direction the big three are going. I have a problem with the quality of software, except Nintendo. I have a problem with games chucked full of micro transactions. I would gladly pay for dlc’s if micro transactions would just eff off forever. I hope gaming and media as a whole becomes a safer place people of all races, religions, genders, and orientations. And I hope we get back to a place where we can all laugh together again, as well as play together. I do however, get the slight feeling like you feel the inclusion factor is the thing watering down your games, particularly in PlayStation. I can assure you if that is the case. You are wrong. Creative Directors, script writers, and publishers’ boards of directors are completely to blame. Every developer and every studio is under a very common microscope bc of the extraordinary constraints and lack of direction they have been given in recent years, not bc of woke content. The games suck rn regardless of the messages they send. If Geralt in Witcher 3 was a trans woman, you would still play it, and you would still like it bc it is an amazing game. We can most certainly include subject matter for the masses and still make good games, but the games have to be good first.

A majority of people are not engaging in relationships anymore because of this new wave feminism, and all I wanted out of life was to share my life with someone and possibly have a family instead of being totally alone and miserable. I wanted to fall in love and treat my girl like a goddess and her to treat me like her knight but that is something that seems like most women don't want nowadays. I am sad alone and heartbroken and feel so far removed from society today. Totally lost and devastated in today's world.😭😭💔💔But as for gaming I just stick mainly to the retro classics. I reckon the only game on it (Call it a launch title) should be Team America: World Police. The theme should play during startup. When you start a game it says “Ooorah!” Whenever you kill a bad guy 🦹 in the game it says “F**k yeah”. The console would have of cause wireless 🛜 controllers because freedom can’t be tied down with a cable. So whenever you pair a controller it alerts you with an “Oooorah!” When you’re connected. The game library would consist of games like GTA Vice City, Redneck Redemption, Monster Truck Madness, Tomb Raider (Bikini Edition), Forza -F150 only, Sonic RedWhite and Blue. I’m disappointed. A joke console for ‘Merica! and no Contra? Muscled up guys with guns running through a jungle blowing away aliens is like the wet dream! Tbh though I don’t think going apolitical will solve the issue. Right now the only brands I see with a defined identity are Nintendo and Evercade, Sony and Microsoft are fairly interchangeable. The rumor that Halo may be coming to PS5 just existing, whether true or not, shows this well enough. I think until we see their respective leadership really deciding what makes their gaming brand unique as a game brand, or why a ps5 game is different from an x-box game, more cheap attempts at identity are inevitable.

This was probably one of the most interesting look into gaming in general with regards to, almost, political potential views? An interesting and touchy subject. Although I am not from the US, I feel like a gaming 'patriot' ? Not too sure how I would feel with having religious views being placed into gaming consoles... thats a big no from me. You're 100% on the money about most people gaming to just get away from their world of life stresses etc.. definitely why I enjoy gaming haha... I just wished there was more effort within Sony's Playstation team and potential developers to create some more VR stuff !!

Game companies have targeted different demographics before. Back in the 90s Nintendo was very careful to cultivate a 'family friendly' image. Nintendo games didn't contain gore and any references to alcohol, drugs, or religion had to be censored from American releases. And then there was Sega. Sega did was Nintendon't. Nintendo's chief rival presented themselves as the edgy alternative for mature gamers -- though in reality this was mostly cosmetic. That had nothing to do with politics, of course, but it shows the potential for profit in pandering to different types of customers even if you are selling what is essentially the same product.

Games (mostly) all have "difficulty" settings, we need to start having "woke" settings lol. Some games in the past have had modes you can change that would reduce the amount of gore and violence, maybe sexual content or swearing too. We have games with so many pointless features these days. So we can easily figure out how to let the writers be themselves, express their ideas, jokes, language, characters and so on and produce their vision for their project. Just have an edited version as well and depending on what one finds offensive, they can choose what they want to play, or hell, just STFU, buy another game and let those of us who like to have fun actually have it.

At 53 its so much fun to get my butt kicked by my granddaughter at street fighter 2 on an original super nes. that i picked up at a car booty on an impulse buy with a stack of games and the scope. think i payed about 40 quid for the lot . now all my granddaughter wants to play are all the mario games she loves them. Still stings a bit getting your ass kicked by a 9 year old . 🤣

Yes! I would buy your freedom console 🎮 🕹 That would be awesome. I've been wondering why I haven't wanted to play any games and now I know why, it's cause they are going woke. If we had one of the big game players step up and say forget all this woke DEI BS and we're just going to focus on making good games for the people who just want to enjoy a good ol' game, that would be awesome but probably won't happen so someone else hopefully will step up and be able to easily grab at least half the gaming market.

many people use video games as an escape, not to see themselves in the protagonist. I just want to enjoy a game, certainly not be given lessons on why I should feel bad about being who I am, while making a small minority feel better about who they are. And to be fair, if the games were good, I also would care as much about the bs lessons... but they aren't good games 🤷‍♂
