My clients ask me, often in desperation, what do I do when I am feeling anxious, have an anxiety or panic attack, an obsessive or intrusive thought or any other fearful experience?
My response - let the body go loose and let it ALL happen.
In this video I talk you through the key technique you can implement anywhere or anytime to help you glide through ALL fearful experiences to feel relief from your anxiety once the tension passes.
Remember, we MUST let it take as long as it takes, whether it take 5 minutes, 20 minutes or a number of hours. The newer this is to you, the longer it will take but you will improve with practice.

Thanks for this explanation on how the relaxing of the body works to teach our fight or flight. I always thought these were used as a coping mechanism, not for teaching our bodies we are safe. This ground breaking for me. You’re a legend Sam

Your videos are extremely helpful! You explain everything in very simple terms which makes it all very doable. Great supplement to any other program you might be working. I’ve been a part of Freedom From Fear for a few years now, but these videos have been a game changer for me. Thank you!!

Yes absolutely, let the pain come without focusing on it. It helps rewire pain neural pathways.

What about CBT, ACT, and other therapies? I find them too much and bewildering right now. Are they essential for recovery?
@openchangeau
@openchangeau Ай бұрын
Great question and no they are not essential for recovery :) I will do another video on these, but I do address CBT and one of the pitfalls with it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip28c6OpgJiSg5Ysi=iTKXY55vA7zp09NZ . They have useful principles and well intentioned but they can also lead you astray.

Awesome, thanks! Another topic that might help me and many others is anxiety from peri-menopause, menopause, and PMS. What to do when your body is anxious for legitimate chemical reasons and if there is still hope. You're the best...keep up the great work!

My question is, if I'm constantly anxious and have unreality feelings all the time, should I be constantly loosening?
@openchangeau
@openchangeau 24 күн бұрын
Yes, there is never a bad time to go loose. Also, anxiety tricks us into thinking we are constantly anxious but there are always more non-anxious moments than we think.
