There were times she’d be aggressive and snarky when replying to comments. She practiced Buddhism, but people felt it was for aesthetic purposes and not for religious reasons. She also had a Buddha head for decor and people explained why Buddhists were offended and she replied that Buddhists should let that go and move on. Other issues people has had with her was fetishizing Asian culture (specifically Japanese). She complained about how others copied her artwork (urge others who want to use it for their own tattoos or to hang on their walls to give credit), but was exposed for using other peoples artwork that could be found on Pinterest, WikiHow, etc. That’s just to name a few reasons why people dislike her

context for the social repose video: from what i remember he was dating Jacklyn Glenn at the time and cheated on her, and she made the video titled “im an idiot”. in it, she’s basically berating herself and genuinely crying because she’s so upset at him and also herself for believing he would be kind and loyal to her because apparently he had a bad reputation even before they started dating. the social repose video is basically just him saying “yeah you should’ve seen it coming tbh” and not really taking any blame

This is a funny story with me and Social Repose ("I will make more music"). His apology was for cheating on his ex, and when I came across this story, I made a video as a 15-year-old commentator in 2018 or so. He put a strike on my channel, so I tried reuploading it, and I got a second strike. I decided to appeal the first one (maybe the second one as well, but I can't remember now). I immediately won and he commented "Great video" very soon after. One of the weirdest exchanges I've ever had on KZbin.

@@procrastinationismyprofession She was doing the ✨aesthetic✨ thing here on youtube kind of between the tumblr and instagram eras (I want to say she's solely on instagram now, but I haven't exactly kept up with her because she can be kind of grating on the nerves even if she has mastered the art of embodying certain aesthetics) and at the time was presenting herself as very artistic and a dreamy kind of boho, hence her entire apology being in verse. She got into a lot of controversies, the most notable of which being: 1) she got mad at followers for copying her artwork to hang on their walls or as tattoos just for it to come out that all her artwork was actually stolen from pinterest and wikihow 2) she claimed to be Buddhist for a while while clearly only having a very surface level understanding of Buddhism. The thing that pissed off people the most was the fact that she owned a Buddha head statue which is really offensive for actual Buddhists because historically colonizers would deface statues of Buddha by removing the heads and then put them in their living rooms to look "cultured". When people tried to explain this to her, instead of learning and correcting her mistake, she tried to double down and say that people should just "get over it" 3) a lot of fetishizing of Japanese culture (maybe Korean for a while irrc, but definitely Japan) while never actually showing any real interest in the culture, just the parts that fit within her aesthetic 4) apologizing for some (but not all) of these things with a poem and aesthetically edited video. She then had to apologize for her apology. 5) just generally being unnecessarily combative with anyone who tried to correct her on pretty much anything

With the James Charles mom one, he wasn't talking about his actual mom. He sometimes called Tati "mom" cause he looked up to her as a motherly figure/role model.

Eight minute apology videos used to be ridiculous, except that now I’ve watched two separate 40 minute apologies from James Somerton, so I guess some things are no big deal anymore.

I really love how any time Jack has a guest host, he invites them to talk about recent projects and basically gives them carte blanche to promote themself, it's like such a small thing but it's really kind and feels like he genuinely wants to see the other party's projects do well. Truly, this is Klondike behavior.

this video is extra good because Jack is an O.G KZbinr from Ye Olde days who has stood immovable like a monolith while half of his peers and collaborators have been cancelled for varying degrees of degenerate behaviour - meanwhile his biggest scandal was marrying someone funnier than him.
