There are times when people of the internet rally up an demand an influencer with a large following to hold themselves accountable to their past actions, it happened again this past month. So In this video, I decided to review the apology videos of KZbinrs called out for racial problems. from Shane Dawson to Jeffree Star to Tana Mongeau. I do not admit if I approve or forgive any KZbinr discussed, I just simply make a reaction and review their approach.

This is how people pass off their racist intentions nowadays on the internet. They say it's a joke and tell people to "stop getting so triggered", thinking it wasn't obvious. Everyone likes to act like they are insensitive, robotic cucks, but would cry and feel insecure if someone insults them online and would spend hours replying to comments thinking they are winning an arguement. I always see that shit in the reply sections, people eplying back months/years later still arguing about the same shit.

My dad used to make gay jokes, only because, well, that was all he knew. He didn’t have bad intentions, that’s all he knew. Back in his day, gay was like, only an insult. He stopped when I came out as pan/bisexual. He was curious, and respectful. He stopped making gay jokes. I feel like we need more people like him.

Everyone goes to ‘dark places’. We all have our problems, we all go through bad times, we allllll have difficult periods. So how is that still used as an excuse? ‘I have struggled, so I decided to make other people struggle’ like shut up. I, like everyone else, has gone through difficult periods, but I still haven’t been racist, homophobic, or hurtful to people that have done nothing wrong. Chileeeeee

Szlendak doesn’t give anyone the excuse to be racist though? Like yeah sure thing everyone reacts differently to hurtful situations, but that doesn’t excuse anyone of that behaviour. In no circumstances should anyone be racist. My point is, if you’re hurting then okay, but there’s better ways of dealing with that besides been racist

being in a “dark place” is very similar to being drunk in the way that it changes your decision making skills, not your morals. when you get into a “dark place” it won’t make you racist, but if you’re already racist it might be easier for you too slip up and show your true colours

People react differently in dark places. I’m not defending anyone and their actions, but I don’t know if what you’re saying really works. Racism is such a deeply rooted and complicated system that understanding people that have done/do racist things are just as complicated. Even so, they should all be held accountable. And while saying that you were in a “dark place” isn’t always a valid excuse and doesn’t imply that all people in dark places do racist things, it still gives some context... Probably could lead into the whole Nurture vs Nature dilemma.

The only reason they do it is to get empathy from young viewers they make themselves the victim of their own hate. Lots of times they do hate themselves and are projecting. However, it is in no way a good explanation or reason for being racist. It makes me so angry that they sit there and cry snake tears just to get attention and empathy.

Seriously, apologies are so simple to do properly: admission of guilt, acknowledgement of consequences, and promising to improve. It seems to be some PR. So they arent "cancelled". Which also can sometimes just mean ew, I don't want to watch you because of all this. I don't watch any of them, but dear god, it's so awkward. It's almost like a coming out video, where a youtuber sheds a few tears and talks about how they hope people will still accept now that their racism is out of the closet. I'd hope maybe someone had something move their heart, but if it has they are good at hiding that. But damn, they could educate and decide to become an antiracist, collaborate with someone who was Black (if they dare) and talk openly about their own bad ideas and that person could inform what it feels like, the history, the present. Deppressinggg.

“Acknowledge, apologize, understand, and help other people understand” and to this i say YES!! When i was at work, we were talking about what we’re gonna do for Halloween and whatnot. I asked one of my coworkers what she was doing since she hasn’t said anything and she said “i don’t celebrate Halloween” and all of us were like “wtfff it’s such a fun time” we explained how you don’t have to make it about anything but a day to just go out and have fun because she was saying it was about satan. We were telling her she was missing out on so much fun and that it doesn’t have to be about satan and whatever … and then i realized that we were lowkey ganging up on her. So i stopped everyone and said “look, she believes it’s about satan and we don’t. We can’t force her to believe in something she doesn’t, it’s pretty messed up” i apologized to her because we are sitting her telling her that her beliefs are wrong because we believe in something else. I still feel bad about it, just because it was about something so small like a “holiday” doesn’t mean it’s not wrong. Some of the people in that conversation still think I’m wrong but again .. i can’t make them see something they don’t want to. But the other understood what i was saying and also apologized to her ..

Than asking us how we deal with Speedy Gonzalez (a huge latino stereotype) or the movie Coco. How we deal with "the wall", our many indigenous communities and their own issues, and so much more. And some of us speak decent english, we could actually have a decent conversation if some of the people in the US handle the microphone over to us, instead of they talking why they're not racist and having a friend named García on a collab video or whatever crap they do to treat "latino culture" as something exotic and interesting.

@@morigaena333 Ableism is when a person(s) or thing(s) does or says something that is discriminatory towards a disabled person (whether they be physically disabled or mentally disabled) just because they have a disability, it's when you treat someone as inferior, inhuman, or as wrong just because they are not able-bodied/able-minded, or treating a disability like it automatically makes someone such. Some examples are: mocking someone in a wheelchair or with limited movement, calling someone autistic just for being stupid or toxic, or otherwise demeaning or harming someone due to their disability, or using a disability as an insult. It's called ableism because it's discrimination on just an ability basis, like how racism is discrimination on just a racial basis, or sexism is discrimination on a gender basis, all of which are very wrong and need to stop.

Hilarious opening 😂 also is tana that girl that iddubz went to her tour and told her “say N-word” instead of “say cheese” at a meet and greet cause he knew she got called out for saying it wanted to mess with her and she threw a whole fit saying he was dangerous and made her feel “unsafe.” As if this scrawny internet guy was dangerous or something?

istg they tell their entire backstory and how famous and popular they are for 98% of it, and the rest is barely even touching on what they did. They also seem to have a phobia of the word "racism", probably because they don't want to feel guilty and/or in the wrong

As a white person, if you have the audacity to “accept” an apology from another person for being racist and saying the N-word there’s something very wrong with you. The apology is not and will never be meant for you.

Its so crazy how all the apologies are about how hard the KZbinrs have had it, and how much they struggled, and that must be an excuse to say racist things and not take accountability for being racist. How can you make an apology video but talk about how hard It was for YOU?! WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TO BE SUBJECTED TO THE HATE AND IGNORANCE FOR CENTURIES!?

I saw this really good quote recently that said something along the lines of "Instead of saying you're not racist, you should really be saying 'I do not want to be racist". It's much better than just going "I'm not racist!!!" and seeming like you're just denying everything, while if you go "I don't want to be racist" means that you did, in fact, act out of line and racist, but you want to be better.

I think this is an awesome quote. I want people to learn and grow and this includes myself. “I do not want to be racist” is more anti racist than just saying “IM NOT RACIST” and getting defensive. It allows room for you to grow rather than just stop learning.

things that AREN'T apologies!! 1. "I was exposed to the internet when I was younger" 2. "My friends are *whatever their friends race is* so I can say it" 3. "I thought the *racist word* isn't racist" 4. "My friends said it so I thought I can say it" 5. "I thought it was a funny joke" 6. "My friends told me to say it" 7. "I'm not racist for saying it because *some stupid excuse*" 8. "I'm not racist but *the racist word* is not racist" 9. "I'm not racist" 10."It's not racist if my friends can say it" 11. "I been to that country so I should be able to say it" 12. "I'm actually *whatever the race or the racist word they said* so I shouldn't apologize for saying it" (which is Oli London who is "trans racial" and as an asian I find it offensive for what they are doing and the way they keep saying "I'm asian" no you ain't you're British.) things that ARE apologies 1. "I didn't pay attention to what I said and would apologize for saying it as it was an accident and would never say it again" (if they said it but they broke the promise then it's a bad apology) 2. "I didn't realize that word I said was a slur as I didn't educate myself on it and would educate myself on it and would never say it again" 3. "I would apologize for saying the racist word as I myself, would apologize for being stupid and didn't educate myself and everyone makes dumb mistakes but we can all learn our mistakes even the worst ones, but I would deeply apologize for saying it and would educate myself on it and will never say it" (Once again if the person who says it but breaks the promise, then it's a bad apology) 4. "If you still don't accept this apology for the racist word I said then it's fine you don't need to forgive me but if you do forgive me, I'm very sorry for the word I said as I didn't mean to offend and I would be careful and educate myself on it from now, have a good day guys and don't do stupid mistakes like I did"
