I just got my MK6 GTI and now I desperately want a Golf R I wish i had known it was AWD sooner... but its the story of my life I get something I want and theres always something next level to tease me (I'm sure that I'm not alone on this).

I got my R last December and it is really hard to find one now because they only (at least use to, not sure what the plan is going forward) make them every 4 years in a limited run. I was the same way however, If I got the R then I couldn't say "Oh I wish I would have got something better". Around here the AWD comes in very handy as well in winter.

Same I live on the east coast where we get plenty of snow and slippery conditions the GTI is serving me well so far but I crave an AWD car that handles well but has a practical side as well. And the interior quality of volkswagen is something that i wont be willing to give up anytime soon.

Hi APR... as you know I'm a big fan :) I have your stage 2 on my golf R... don't need to go in details and say what an amazing work you guys have done on my car... quick question, I'm struggling to find online some tips to do well on a 1/4 of mile with a 6mt. I think that you guys have the best knowledge to tell me what are the correct rpm's to get the perfect shifts for each gear... can you help me with that? Also for the start... what rpm should i be in when i release the clutch? Did not test yet stage II... stage I was 12.5sec for me... hope you'll reply to this. Have a nice day.

Hi ..my Golf R is now on Stage II with VWR intake and APR downpipe... as I am still using the original cat back muffler.. look like the tail pipe stuck out ( longer than before ) a bit especially after a hot run.. is that normal ( because of the 3" to 2.5" adaptor ) ? I want to Keep low profile so want to keep the muffler... some said I can disable the limiter of the right pipe ( make it always open ) .. is that right ? and any down-side ? I rather do fuel pump on my next investment ..

Do you need to install each stage one by one , for example stage 1,2 than 3 . Or can you just straight go to stage 3

Hey man I'm no APR representative but I do know my way around these things. You can skip straight to stage 3, it just requires installing stage 1 and 2 parts along with it. For example: Stage 1 is a remap Stage 1+ is a remap, intake and fuel pump. Stage 2+ is a remap, intake, fuel pump and downpipe. Stage 3 is a remap, intake, fuel pump, downpipe, intercooler, spark plugs and turbo upgrade. You can do all the mods at once, but you have to do all of them. Hope that makes sense.
