I was graduated from law school in May of 2010. It was the worst legal market since the Great Depression. Thankfully, I had gone to school with a full scholarship and my parents paid my rent ($233/month; got to love Alabama!), but I couldn't imagine what it felt like for my friends coming out with thousands of dollars in debt taking jobs which paid $20/hour (if they found one at all). They literally would have been better off going to work for McDonald's or Walmart out of high school and working their way up the ladder.

@myes3444 жыл бұрын
The Aztec people traded an enormous amount of gold for the first potato plants. And because the soil is so rich they grew the biggest potatos u can imagine. And very quickly they made back the gold and x3 the profit. But after the Aztec people left. The natives try their hands in potato farming. Of course they planted it in less fertile soil. The indian chef was furious. It goes on from there
@joshuah.44964 жыл бұрын
M Yes random fact but part of what made the Aztecs so successful at farming is the combination of several things. They would burn thick forests to the ground then mix all the nutrient filled charcoal into the dirt. They would also use their own excrement as fertilizers, and the last and best of all is that they committed unimaginable amounts of mass human sacrifices to their gods atop the pyramids in the form of ripping a living human’s heart out. Scholars estimate the Aztec Empire would sacrifice anywhere from 20,000 to 250,000 humans every year, and then the human remains would be used as fertilizer

E30 M3 for 3500?!???? Much simpler times back then
@matthewzerafa65485 жыл бұрын
I paid less for mine.. It didn't have an engine. Tranny or interior. And I sold it a week later for 4600. There's always someone selling something cheap. My friends first car was a gallant vr4. He sold it to me for 1400. It had about 180k on it. I still have it. It's on its second engine. About 280 whp. She runs good
@Gentleman...Driver5 жыл бұрын
Well, no... Times were diffrent back then but not simpler. Sure, there were plenty of old cars to buy, but otherwise no one had the money since interest was quite high. No one could imagine that old cars would be sky rocketing at some point. Newer was better back then. At least at the viewpoint of most people. There was no internet also. So you had to dig into car magazines to have a feeling if a car is its money worth or not.

Your ability to spin a good yarn is one of the reasons for your success and VinWikis the ability to engage and not boor with stories is what this channel is about, love of cars and the gift of gab is the formula for success and evidently from my car buying experience is rare, I even coached a fairly new salesman when I flew in to pick up a car, we had about a 45 minute ride to the dealership and started taking, he’d only sold 3 cat, but they were all unusual, so I said that he had a great base to start with and that engaging is a good way to sell cars

Then told him it was April Fools after he had had the very painful test to determine if he is compatible of not. Now that would create an awkward silence.

I could build a 4 level split - house and close it in with only sliding and rolled roof and have them believe the whole - un-truth. I MC'd my sisters wedding - and she never knew that Naugahyde was a plastic based polymer built into furniture of the 70's. She bought one of those Michael Jackson jackets - and I never broke a smile as I told her how many Nauga's had to be killed to make her jacket! The story is the gold!
