Even after 11 years, this video looks just like it was made like a week ago quality wise.

I discovered this same foam at a local dollar store before viewing your series of videos. I congratulate you on your excellent "noob-oriented videos" that fit my skill level and budget perfectly. Thanks to you (and a few others) I have the knowledge now to build a cargo plane using this foam and have subscribed! I will be using all the ideas from your series to build a Armin wing with simple box fuselage. Thanks so much for sharing your time and talents!

Very nice, it's always good to find someone who knows what they are doing!!! two thumbs way up!!!

It worked pretty well. Ultimately I just went with the even simpler, but uglier "Fuglyjet" with a wide open nose. It's easier to make and I believe a bit more efficient, with a straight gulp of air to the EDF.

Fabulous stuff here Ed. Been flying Armin a few years now and even my original 60" wings are still flying! This construction is strong, light, and I even used the cheap DT-tape (clear). My recommendation however is to remove ALL the paper from the foam because it does peel eventually (moisture). The tape does not. I have even flown in light rain w/o issues. There are many build-techniques on YT now but if you want it to LAST.. Follow these E-A details! Blue skies capt'n Ed! 73-

Excellent stuff. I have been following every video of yours and i really appreciate the time you have taken to shoot these videos with every single detail. I am inspired and trying to build the drone. Will help if you could share some more videos on minimally the specs for the other models you have used in the videos.

I've been using gift cards for years now thanks to your videos. Nowadays I crease them at about 60 degrees rather than 90. They still bend to 90 degrees vertical but now they lean forward over the hinge line. I also cut a slot through the foam and glue them underneath for added strength

Partly esthetic preference, partly to avoid putting a weak spot in the upper surface where compression forces are at work. I have mounted them through the top on a 60" wing and it did form a wrinkle in the paper right at the servo. Not a big deal though, you could probably go either way.

Ideally somewhere between the inner 1/3 of the aileron and the middle of the aileron for the control horn and servo alignment. The servo itself fits best just behind the wing former, where the wing is still fairly thick but you don't need to actually cut into the former itself in most cases. If you do actually have a separate, rigid spar you can more safely cut into the foam formers if you need a thicker area for the servo. The average 9g servo is about 2 1/2 thicknesses of foamboard.

i usually wrap my servo with masking tape, then using two small drop of hot glue and then glue it into my wing, work really well.

first of all thank you for your knowledge and share with us and I have a question for you the curve of the front wing has some degree Exactly or is it pure calculation and if you have any diagram to do in Madera, ke me but I have an airplane wing that went bankrupt and why and could not fly, Thanks for your time and information

M done with canard, wings &fuse. Need some more details on fuse extension. Did u make a smaller fuse (telescopic) or seperate sides to support the fuse ext? Btw, it has come great so far. Also, how to balance aircraft with cg being on the fuse center?I have never flown canard planes. Thanks. Iqbal

I don't know but something tell me that you are a sing man! most of the tools and the way that you work w/ ur hands make me think that you work on sings for a living!
@ExperimentalAirlines12 жыл бұрын
That would probably work. I would fix the control surfaces (ailerons) in neutral position with some tape or something so they cannot move in flight.

Great job on the videos, one question, you state you want 2inches on the 7 inch wing, How do you get that? Do you cut the bottom on the trailing edge after wing is made, or do you bend at the six inch mark in instead of the 7 inch mark for the two inch trailing edge ?

Hallo how can put some angle on the wing thank you
@ExperimentalAirlines13 жыл бұрын
@rciqbglr I will do that, I promise. I feel bad that I don't have much flying video since I don't have a reliable camera operator at the field. I'm kind of weirdly shy about showing a plane all built, lying on the grass, with no flight video. But thanks for your interest, and I will do a few like that soon.

I see you're using 2 servos but how do you connect both servos to the same channel on the receiver? Basic question i know... Ive got no experience in rc electronics ㅠㅠ
@Wabball12 жыл бұрын
Where exactly in relation to the wing are you mounting the servos? It looks to be in the middle of the wing, but that is where the spar would go. Are you putting them just in front of the formers. towards the trailing edge?
