The Armored Core Fromsoftware Doesn't Want You to Play . This is metal wolf chaos and Metal Wolf Chaos XD. Both games that Fromsoft would create before Elden Ring. Before the days of Miyazaki and Dark Souls, fromsoft was only known for Armored Core and Kings Quest.
Metal Wolf Chaos[b] is a third-person shooter video game developed by FromSoftware. It originally released in 2004 in Japan for the Xbox. The player takes on the role of fictional United States President Michael Wilson piloting a mech to battle the rebelling military, led by fictional Vice President Richard Hawk. Wilson's mech can be equipped with up to eight weapons selected from a set of over a hundred. In each mission, the player battles through destructible environments, destroying all enemies they come across.
The Xbox's low popularity in Japan led Microsoft to team up with FromSoftware to develop a mecha game for the system. FromSoftware was primarily known at the time for the mecha combat series Armored Core. Since Microsoft was an American company, the team worked in extensive American context and cultural references. Despite the game only being released in Japan, it grew a cult following in the West due to its exaggerated themes of American patriotism. Publisher Devolver Digital released Metal Wolf Chaos XD, a remastered version of the game, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in August 2019.

PS: Metal Wolf Chaos also happens to be the "sequel" to Ninja Blade a few years later, basically the Agent WIlson you meet in Ninja Blade may or may not be Michael's dad

I'm pretty sure it's just an on running thing with the name Micheal Wilson. Kind of like Patches in Armored Core. Fromsoft does a lot of references to previous games. For example the Moonlight in Armored Core and Dark Souls came from Kingsfield and there is Murakumo which was an Armored Core reference and then Cloudbreaker in ACE was a reference to Murakumo. Fromsoft does a lot of references back and forth between titles. Before Dark Souls 2 they had about 50 games in their library.

Its crazy to me that people are just now discovering this game. I played this on Xbox way back in the day. The entire game is in english except for a few of the menus.

This video missed out one thing: there's another mech game exclusive to Xbox also made by From Soft called Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit. It's largely forgettable game but worth mentioning when talking about From support for the original Xbox. And that one made it into the west somehow.

Daily reminder that Armored Core is unironically FASTER than Metal Wolf to the point till this day its still the fastest Mecha game ever, and have allways been a fast paced game since the PS2 Generation 2 Games and Generation 3 Armored Core Games 4th Gen was the fastest Armored Core has been, especially For Answer managing to surpass Gundam And 5th Gen makes every Mecha Simulator game look like glorified Tanks over actual Mech gameplay Armored Core 6 will be what makes 3rd Gen Armored Core Mission loved, 4th Gen fast and easy controls, and 5th Gen Unique Boss gameplay

7:10 That was a pretty weird point against Wilson liking one of the most important films in US history; given his upbringing it's not really a surprise and pretty ordinary for someone of his time. If you wanted to hate on him, you could've easily brought up the fact he dragged us into WWI or his North Russian adventure, against the will of the American people.
