It isn't that things cannot change, it is that you cannot control certain things. You don't have to accept that 'things cannot change', that is making a story out of an event. Just simply observe what is and accept it without judgement.

Chuang Tzu said: "When we sleep our spirits are free to roam. When we wake, we open to the world again. Day after day, all that we touch entangles us, and the mind struggles in that net: vast and calm, deep and subtle" this is David Hinton's translation.

What's the difference between "the Inner Chapters" and "the Outer Chapters"?
@pajamawilliams9847 Жыл бұрын
The inner chapters are considered to have been written by Zhuangzi himself, the outer chapters were added by later students.

Is "Lietzi" an unusual pronunciation of Lao Tzu, or does anyone have a body of reading recommendations about this person?
@dr.gaosclassroom2 жыл бұрын
Liezi is an immortal featured in Zhuangzi. There is also a collection of work allegedly penned by Liezi which tells stories about immortals. I also love Zhuangzi. Please check my videos on Zhuangzi: kzbin.info/aero/PL8piymOUzJSDIb3TaBFusPPBhVbagWfiU

Liezi is another writer, his work is self Titled as well. He is sort of the middle child of the Daoist canon and his work isn't as well know or taught but it's definitely worth a read

Curious what translation this is. Very heavily edited and seems to just extract a few lines from each story. It's a shame to miss the stories and a lot of the context.
