While I do love this book, it needs to be said Perrault came before the Grimm's. He lived 200 years before them.

He may have come first, but the story predates even him. Variations on Cinderella have existed since ancient times, and in numerous cultures. Though in fairness, Disney's film is primarily based on Perrault's adaptation, not Grimms'.

Why does the subtitle mention Grimms' adaptation of Cinderella when the Disney film was based on Perrault's adaptation?

The whole glass slippers versus fur slippers thing is a myth. I heard that too when I was younger and believed it, but Snopes did an excellent article refuting it: www.snopes.com/fact-check/glass-slippers/

Unfortunately this is one of Disney’s worst films full of bland character designs and forgettable animation. But because it was commercially successful, it’s considered a “classic.” Black Cauldron is the exact opposite.
