Kim Novak, God bless you for publicly saying you loved and hated your father. So many of us grow up with cruel, unkind fathers who bully and mistreat us. Then we are left with feelings of shame, self-loathing, and rage toward these men who were hateful and abusive to us when we were small and defenseless. You are not alone, I also had a terrible cruel father. You are my sister, and I send you my love.

When I was a kid growing up in Wichita Kansas, I had 2 brothers and one of the things mom and dad liked to do was take Sunday drives in the country... Sometime just find a dirt road and drive until you feel like turning onto another road... But Sometimes we would have specific places to go.. the Ear nose and throat museum... the largest ball of twine.. the deepest hand dug well.. and mom took us to the town where Picnic was filmed. I stood on the same platform where that dance scene was filmed... It didnt mean much until I saw the movie a few years later.. but mom... seemed to be a bit underwhelmed... The park was so small and it had seemed so large in the movie.. And of course it didnt look quite the same because it wasnt lit up and all trimmed perfectly... Watching the movie now.. I can remember the feel of electricity when a tornado was nearby... the stillness just before it hits i amazing.. I have seen a tornado hit a church about a block from our home when I was 8 or 9... It just hit the top spire.. which came down and crushed the steps leading up to the church... And I can imagine what that dance felt like with a tornado nearby... Its a universal feeling.. we all want that feeling...

I just saw her in the movie " Middle of the Night" with Frederic March. I guess her moving performance as an emotionally unstable young woman comes closest to how she is in real Life. This lady has a tender and very fragile soul, I love her, it must have been so tough for her to survive in Hollywood without losing her mind. It is great that she has survived, she seems to be in peace with herself.

Why do y'all care so much about APPEARANCE? Are every single one of us perfect, thin, wrinkle-free, etc.? Get over yourselves. It's her choice to do nip or tuck or not.
@Cathy-xi8cb

I doubt she was hoping for this result. Now the ONLY THING anyone can pay attention to when she speaks is the grotesque results of her surgeries. She is a lovely woman inside, but that is harder to see once you look at what happened to her.
@binklebabe4725
@binklebabe4725 4 жыл бұрын
@@Cathy-xi8cb I'm sure, but my point is that appearance is still so important. If somebody is born with a facial birth defect, for example, or suffers burns or some other horrible accident, everybody recoils in horror. I think our revulsion comes from a fear of looking that way ourselves. What I don't get is when people I know who are older, overweight, etc., insult less-than-perfect celebrities. I'm not saying that's you!! I myself am older, horribly thin, saggy, etc., and was once very beautiful, but accept it. My time to be young is over.

@@binklebabe4725 Babe, the ONLY reason she looks as she does, is because 'appearance' was paramount to her! Thus, Cathy's comment was as accurate & compassionate as it could be.

I reallly admire Kim Novak for her extreme emotional and psychological control. When a woman is known for her great beauty and then she losses it can be devastating to the psyche. She wanted to so desperately to hold on to her beauty that she made a bad choice and decided to seek the services of a plastic surgeon. Unfortunately, the doctor she found was a quack and literally destroyed her beautiful face by injecting fat transfer. Kim should have done research about fat transfer and the negative effects it can have when injected into the face. I really hope that she sued the quack doctor that destroyed her great beauty. She should have reported him to the County Medical Board for the purpose of having his license REVOKED and put out of business so that he will not have another opportunity to ruin another woman's face. I feel so bad for Kim as I can imagine her great anguish and severe mental suffering she has had to endure. However, she has endured and she has her art work and her love of animals that help keep her strong with the help of GOD. Kim Novak is a real survivor.

Iron Eagle. And I admired the strength and connection that we ALL need to have to survive and rise TOGETHER as a community first. We have colors and we aren't color-blind in the society we live in BUT each color and cultural difference helps to build our strongest, most developed communities...but we do it together. And he has always had an amazing strength of character that he has intrinsically.

Smart Cookie to had left Hollywood and have a deeper forfilling live with all her money to live with animals and in her art creations. But sad she was so scared of her father. There's something about him that she's repressed or just not telling. Amazing that she's STILL alive yet HER LIFE has certainly been rich and full. Sorry for the recent loss of her dear husband. He must have been an amazing Veterinarian. But weird and hypocritical to claim to LOVE animals yet eat them and wear fur.

Here's a question I've long wanted answered. If you're a woman who is was famous and known as a beauty how do you win in Hollywood as you age? If you have plastic surgery and do all you can to stay wrinkle free and appear an age you no longer are, you are torn apart. If you age naturally and your appearance changes as it absolutely will, you are torn apart. So what choice should women make not to be torn apart by press & fans?

Well, what comes to mind is that the first thing you learn being in the public eye is to develop a thick skin about what other people think and say. You can only do your best to live an authentic life, stay grounded in moral values, do the things that bring true joy, and trust that life indeed will be fulfilling, satisfying, and deeply rich wherever it leads you. It's been my experience that people who do that, look great whatever the age because of their vitality, freshness, and joy of living. Hope this helps.
