You too. Kazuki Takahashi has always been one of my favourite manga artists and I owe him a lot since Yu-Gi-Oh! was the first anime I ever saw, even if I didn’t know what that meant back then, but I love his art style and I love how he had so much on the page, but it was always drawn amazingly. And I love how he created this franchise with every other series afterwards. R.I.P Takahashi, thank you so much for all the amazing characters and memories.

The man literally died a hero, he drowned trying to rescue some people who fell overboard during a stormy night, kinda like what happened to Mako's father in the manga. He has some of my favorite monster designs in all of fiction, as a matter of fact, I often bought Yu-Gi-Oh cards just for seeing some cool artwork rather than playing the TCG, and thought that it would've been really dope to have a JRPG where he designed the monsters. Sadly, that was not meant to be, and I hope that he's resting comfortably in Heaven as a new generation of fans and long-time veterans alike continue to enjoy his work. Rest in Peace, Kazuki Takahashi, you won't be missed or forgotten... 😔 🙏

Yugioh taught me more about Ancient Egypt than most documentaries. It was such a cool link to my childhood when I saw the ancient bone dice named "astragal" in a museum last year after Yami Yugi mentioned them in the manga like 20 years earlier.

I wasn't expecting his style to be inspired by Edward scissorhands. I see it and find it cool because that's one of my favorite movies. I grew up watching and playing yugioh. I still like the art style very much. Especially the eye designs

Takahashi lovingly wove everything he enjoyed in life into his art! Whether it be Manga, American Comics, Board/ Video games...and more!. His monsters were inspired by American Comics such as Spawn and Hellboy( Zombyre) to Manga from Go Nagi( Devilman for designs of Sirene for Harpy Ladies, and Devilman for D hero Malicious and Yubel transformations!). Even Celtic Guardian draws inspiration from Link from the Legend of Zelda. Sadly the Monster Reborn card art used in the show was originally an Ahnk but was changed for " US Sensibilities" . Luckily an uncut version of the art was later released.

2 small corrections, if this is about the manga then it's got a completely different cannon from the Studio Gallop anime universe, as a pose to the Yu-Gi-Oh manga universe which are two very different timelines. Also, on that note there's really only 6 Yu-Gi-Oh series from Gallop that are part of that anime universe. Sevens and Go Rush are a completely new universe about a completely new card game. This means that in terms of anime cannon Yu-Gi-Oh only expanded into 6 series (yes that's still pretty big, but compared to some other mega franchises that's not as far reaching as you'd expect). Regardless, great video. RIP Legend, went out in a way just as epic as he lived.

Wait... you lack some research if you think Kazuki made the western Monster reborn card. That was originally just an Ahnk (ancient egypt themed game) but too religious to sell on the christian market overseas so they censored it alongside other designs.

1. You didn't mention Yugioh spawned the Bandai card game in 1998 before Konami released their own in 1999. As stated by both Takahashi and Megumi Ogata (original voice of Yugi/Yami Yugi), the Bandai card game was popular and specifically for Ogata, the Bandai card game caused the original Toei anime's ratings to increase at the start of the 2nd half (July). 2. You showed the censored art of Resurrection of the Dead (Monster Reborn). 3. You didn't mention that despite the original Toei anime not releasing in the West, the source manga did in 2002. Just like Duel Monsters anime after it, the Toei anime made story and character changes. You're not losing out on not seeing altered content when the source manga is readily available and of course much darker because both anime aired at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM/6:30 PM, respectively, so changes had to be made for TV (and both anime were marketing their respective card games).
