I am reminded of a passage from "Loving What Is" where Katie visits a dying woman in the hospital with a horribly swollen leg. She was yelling and screaming that it shouldn't be happening. Katie asked her to please show her what the problem is. The lady uncovered her bloated leg. Katie then informed her that she now saw the problem - the lady thought her leg shouldn't be swelling up, and it would be helpful if she'd quit doing that. The lady was overcome with more joy and peace than she had ever felt in her life, and they spent a wonderful time together before she passed. That woman achieved something only a few of us ever do, and her life needed to unfold that way for her to reach that final goal. God is reality. The serpent approached Eve with a lie, telling her to think something that was not true, to stop accepting reality. The rest has been our struggle after the Fall.

I'm so grateful mushroom trips have given me this (or at least a similar, I can't know his exact experience) feeling of watching everything and being so present especially with glimpses of nature and where I currently am and making life more intense. I'm grateful I get to be this way for a long time and not just at the end. I thought I knew what being present even was when I meditated for years, but when I tripped, I realized I didn't know at all. Trips showed me what it was.
