Hey JD- I think Masyn Winn is most likely the biggest hitter - but also Alec Burleson has done a lot for the teams wins. On the trade situation I have to agree with you - your way smarter than I am. I'm still excited about the throw by Dylan Carlson at home plate - it was awesome - the guy came through when we needed it the most.

My initial trade reaction is the same, and I like the way Locked On promo competes for market viewership.

This lineup gets tricky once guys like Edman and Noot, and especially Contreras, come back. The only question is, do they all or who's able to make it back by the trade deadline. If Edman stays in Center, I think it's the end of the line for Carlson despite the amazing throw, which admittedly, Edman could never have made. But the reality is, we need someone to hit higher than .175. Once Noot comes back, I'm assuming Burleson goes to pure DH and Donovan to 2nd. It's going to get sticky between Donovan and Gorman. You want Gorman's power, but he strikes out way to often. His strikeout percentage is higher than his on-base lol. Last thought, why is JW not on this team? Are we saying, regardless of power numbers, we don't think he can hit over .175 and maybe 2 hr in 40 games? Why do we continue to give opportunity after opportunity to guys like Paul Dejong and Carlson but leave Victor Scott and JW in AAA???

The Cardinals had a 3 run lead in the late part of that game and ended up allowing the tie but it went into extras and fernandez was mvp of that game completely saved us there. The Cardinals are that team that if fhey do something good they do something bad and sometimes it's the other way around. I think the starting OF should be Edman, Michael Sani, Nootbar or Burly. I would completely trade Carlson because you have Jordan Walker that could return and you need maybe someone else in Carlson spot. Carlson actually gunned that runner down so that was amazing but I'm thinking long term Carlson should be traded.

Walker will be traded, he will not be coming back for more than a cup of coffee after the Minor league season ends. He has been awful in AAA, the general consensus is saying.

Think about the unseen yet potential that currently exists and get a couple of those motors going to be at a perfect sync for the playoffs….TLR days, I recalll him saying around this time during a tough opening that let’s see where we are at All Star break, I’ll be happy at 500….then we will be in a competitive position!! Hey JD; I agree with your take to not trade our farm pitchers for a relatively unknown. The Redsox may be sellers and RH Starter Nick Pivetta could be available, albeit I have no idea what the Sox would require in a return. Also, the Rays Zach Eflin might be had. The question would be if the Cards could take on his 40M contract that runs through 2025. Taking on that contract should cost less in prospects though. Would the Cards be willing to give a big haul in Chicago Whitesox Garrett Crochet? To get someone to go with Gray as a solid 1 two punch you have to pay or give up prospects. It all depends on what the other team wants and if the FO is willing to puke or not.

No to Erik Fedde. He somehow found lightning in the bottle but he has been extremely bad over the past. Fedde is no better than Pallante. Fedde has a career 5.03 ERA. No signs that the recent success will continue. It's like trading away Gallen again.

no, fire Mo, and Marmol will make the HOF as a Manager! Oli has already won league champion in the Minors, won our Division in MLB the first year he Managed in MLB, and is now challenging for another Division title. He's a pretty astute Manager, doing a good job. The players like and respect him (unlike their feelings toward Mo). Mo is all that's holding Oli back.

@dennissmith5042 yeah you just compliment his few bad outings..already 33 ip at that rate he will pitch over 100 ip for the year or 3quarters of the games total and really should be around 75 for a reliever or just under half of 162 game season. Respectable 2.41 era for leading in innings pitched. Hopefully he will have the day off again but it sounds like he may pitch today if needed. It's just a result of very high leverage situations and number of bt and were only at 72 games in. Don't just look at 3 days off it is your overall ip..bt ..games pithed...sore loser🤣 maybe you want to trade him.. it's similar to all those people comments when we were losing. Remember we are just good enough to beat the sub 500 teams at this point. If our hitting comes around we might catch the brewers.

When Edman is back he should go to 2nd and stay there. Much less chance for Edman to hurt himself again. And what a middle infield that would be. A top duo in the Nat'l league. Leave Siani in CF and Gorman to DH and use when Tommy needs a day off. Gorman did well defensively at 2nd but the bat is dreadful. He need to focus on contact and let the power come naturally.
