On this program, I discuss the philosophy of the Atomists, who promoted an early form of materialist philosophy. This series has, so far, covered the major Pre-Socratic philosophers.

I am not arguing that materialism is true but one should not forget that it was a step foward compared to the mythical explanation of the world from our ancestors.

​@@plantae420newton's concept of gravity was quite mystical. And it was not materialism that moved us forward; but natural philosophy and science for they are not the same. Plus, some myths were used to encode metaphysical and even scientific information in a useful way (I am not trying to oversell the ancient worldview, but it's not black and white either)

You have great talent in summarizing and simplifying such a voluminous and highly complex subject matter such that the uninitiated like myself can understand.
