I think you summed up the appeal perfectly right at the end of the video! They're exactly like the Weird Al of the scene! The lyrics and music videos are a fun over the top presentation of both the "party every night rapper" and "rich famous rock star" images I saw all over MTV around the time they started playing. It's like they hold a funhouse mirror up to the two music subcultures that inspired them. I dont know if it's all intentional, but I like their music because the instrumentals are catchy and the lyrics are funny to me. @@allstopblue5717 also valid, but their instrumental talent is just too good for them to not be satire. You don’t really hear their talent anymore since it sounds like Fronz is essentially in creative control now. I also don’t think that their music is good, but they definitely have some bangers

Yeah I’ll die on that hill as well. Attila tapped into a market that made them a lot of money. They’re definitely smart as hell. Fronz is actually a genius businessman. Dude has made himself a multi millionaire doing party metalcore and investing that money in lucrative ventures. He’s able to play fun music, tour, and be covered financially for the rest of his life. Can’t knock the hustle at all. 🤷🏼They’re also really solid musicians who just choose to make party metal. Ahhh I remember partying to Attila back in 2010. That same year I went to see them open for We Are The End in Houston. Me and a couple friends were rolling a blunt in the car when Fronz completely randomly jumped into our car to roll a blunt himself, after introducing himself and seeing that we were doing the same he invited us to smoke in their shitty gear trailer attached to their touring van. While we were in there we somehow broke out a beat by banging on the inside of the trailer and Fronz and my friend did a freestyle rap session. Good memories! They were a really small band at the time. A year or so later I became a DJ and lost interest in a lot of deathcore. around 2015 I went to warped tour for the first time in almost a decade and it blew my mind when the headlining band came on stage and it was non other than Attila!

You forgot to mention fronz being on an episode of mtv's made which is how alot of people like myself first heard of Attila and probably played a big part in their success.

The thing that made me favor them was they were genuinely themselves no matter how wild it got lol. They never backed down and that was so cool to me as a teenager 😊

When they really play, Attila can be one of the best bands in that whole scene (seriously. Go check out Three6 for proof of their instrumental talent), so I'm interested in watching this! Don't get too in deep in a fight with Fronz with this one, 'kay, Julian?

I was interning as a PA at MTV when we got the assignment to work on the True Life episode that had Fronz on it. We chatted briefly during a filming break and he asked me for a cigarette. I held out my pack for him to grab one and he literally took the whole box and said “what a fucking idiot you are” and laughed as he walked away. I never smoked cigarettes again. THANK you Fronzuccini or whatever you call yourself now. Over 13 years smoke free 😎

Dude I just came across this, and I think you did a fucking fantastic job. I’ve been a close personal friend of theirs, as well as their full time tour manager throughout the warped era and still off and on till this day. You did your homework, some of the footage you managed to find is phenomenal. Great job and happy new years 🎉

My only issue is Fronz seems like something stunted him mentally. He keeps getting older but has this same teenager lyric style and image. And of course his behavior with young fans has been questionable. That said their stuff is definitely a guilty pleasure sometimes.

Love them. Just saw them at rage fest. Put on a great show, so fun.. Playing with amazing bands like He is Legend and Islander as well. Honestly, they have always said fuck the haters and I guess I see why some of the take themselves so serious metal bros wouldn’t care for them, but they are so fun. To each their own ❤

attila is an absolute legend. if you dont like them your just a "i dont want to be "cringe" in front of my friends" they are brutal and everyone of there songs has great meaning and are uplifting. letting you realize you dont need to be like everyone else, and stop worrying about people talking junk about you.

A previous band I was in played with them in 2006/2007 in SC right after the MTV show. I remember Chris walking around talking to everyone and just being a pretty genuine dude. The persona for the element of the band is understandable but really he is actually a pretty good guy.

@@Cdxxcgg Well I played with them in Florence South Carolina at a place called The Cootie Hut. It may have been 2008 but I know it was them for a fact. I mean he walked right up to me and introduced himself. My band knew who they were already because of his appearance on Made. So I don't know what to tell you but I met them and played with them.

Once, back in 2010, my bands local show got cancelled as we got there. And Atilla was supposed to play as headliner. Since they were bored and didn't have a show to play anymore, we played frisbee in the parking lot with a broken drum head from their tour van.

this came out at the perfect time! i still listen to a few of their songs and my boyfriend asked me about them the other day, and i couldnt remember all the issues lmao. honestly idk how anyone else listens to them tho, i only can when im in a white trash kind of mood lmao i was a huge fan of Attila from around 2014- 2018, its one of the only bands i bought merch for and i have like $100 worth if you include Stay Sick stuff. i was one of the first people to sign up for Chris's social media app he came up with, it was called Spur but i think he changed the name if it still exists. i even talked with a few of the members on instagram because i would make fan edits, they liked when i made fake album covers for them. they were all really nice, even chris. but i stopped fkn with them when it became clear to me Chris was slowly becoming a con artist- i only bought all that merch because he was such a good salesman. all his stay sick stuff, besides the hoodie, was really poor quality for what you paid. the backpack i had broke within a couple weeks, the zipper handle fell off and the straps were really weird to the point that i stopped using it(hard to explain over text but they would pinch/pull on my shoulders and it hurt, regardless of how light the bag was. that bag was like $60+shipping iirc. i think what finally tipped me over the edge tho was when he started making ig accounts for his babies, then him and his wife broke up and i dont remember details but it just started to seem like he was very selfish and money hungry behind the scenes too... i was cool with the persona but that grossed me out oh, and i havent finished the video yet so please forgive me if this gets brought up, but he also started some weird online class thing that supposedly taught you how to be an entrepreneur or some shit. i specifically remember him mentioning it as a good replacement for college, because i told my mom that was my backup plan if college didnt work out for me, and she made me show her wtf i was talking about. thank god i realized a while later classes like that are a huge scam because i did end up dropping out lmao

Back when I was in high school when they dropped sountrack to a party everyone was bumping that like nonstop. In my late teens and early 20's when they dropped rage & outlaw those were fucking amazing and seeing them live was fun man at warped and other shows. By the time About That Life came out idk for myself sorta grew out of it but respected the production value and the fame they finally were getting. Hope they keep releasing stuff until the bands final days man.

I knew attila a little bit and I like that they try to make a business out of their own style of party metalcore. It's not an easy route to take but they made it. Reminds me a bit of the german band electric callboy.
