How those factory axles going to last Back in the day in Vic you could get your wrangler engineered on 37 inch tyres. However you had to replace the front and rear axle with Dana 60s. And upgrade the brakes and suspension
@jimmybdeluxe17 күн бұрын
And from all the reports deeper diff gears in the dana 44s spit pinion gears under load
@superiorengineering16 күн бұрын
The JT and JL diffs are a lot better than the Jk or Tj in stock form 37s are run all around the world with good performance and it stops us from having to charge 60k for a set of 60s.

Does the 2024+ Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in Australia have a full floating rear axle ?

No the rubicon in Aus gets the non rubicon width semi float axles.

According to Jeep Australia's website and brochure documentation, yes the Aus spec Rubicon does get the full float rear axle.

How do you feel about running a higher GVM than the Gladiator was ever designed for anywhere in the world? The brakes, transmission, frame, axles, driveshafts and everything else you have not upgraded were never designed to carry that much weight. How much long term testing have you done?
@superiorengineering16 күн бұрын
Front drive shaft gets changed and chassis gets braced which I did miss in the video actually, every jeep we see come into our workshop is well above gvm anyway so you can now drive them legally.

Stellantis just canned the CEO and replaced him with the retired Jeep Ram design head. Jeep is not going down, but going up. The death nail to the CEO was his plan to eliminate the HEMI V8. Bad move to remove their Nascar V8s. I already see Stellantis USA listening to their dealers and customers. Maybe the Gladiator will be able to have a 392 V8 Hemi and Dana 60 axles afterall. Right now you have to get America's Most wanted V8 swaps to do that, complete with axles. I have regeared my Dana 44 differentials to 5:13 gearing, and plan to truss the axles, with at least a 4.5 or 6.5 inch lift, with 38 inch tires, with a stubby bumper, and Auxbeam bumper mounted 360 7 inch Pros 33K lumens pair, with amber covers, and on the hood a-pillar Auxbeam 5 inch V-Ultra 20K pair lumens, amber. To push backcountry snow, I have the Smittybilt 12 K winch, and plan to install a 52 inch 55k lumen light bar, as the bumper lights get covered with the front plowed deep snow. I see guys running 42 or 43 inch tires here in Alberta, Canada. The Jeep is the adult LEGO set. Just empty every pocket.

No mention of diff gear changes for 37s?

The rubicon diff gear suit the 37s very well, they also have a 4.1:1 low range perfect for big tyres.

Curious as to why you kept the original tie rod and replaced the drag link and panhard rod. Also, is SE considering installing a sector shaft brace as is very popular in the US?
@superiorengineering17 күн бұрын
The factory tie rod is fine to suit the lift as they are adjustable, definitely can be added to the kit though. The panhard and sector shaft brace is something we will look at in the future.

In the front they use the metal clock bump stop extensions and in the rear the 80 series bump stop is super easy to access for spares if needed in Australia and they are simple the best rubber bump stop out there.

@ozian7917 күн бұрын
Great stuff, but what is the hurdle to doing these kits (long and mid-arm) post-rego? You'd have a line up of current Gladiator owners knocking your door down if there was any way to offer a legal post-rego 37" kit. Your market for pre-rego is pretty limited.
@superiorengineering17 күн бұрын
A very large hurdle of ESC testing which is not readily available in Australia and extremely expensive, the issue we then run into is Queensland would be the only state to accept a 4 inch lift post rego.
@ozian7917 күн бұрын
@@superiorengineering it makes zero sense. There has been effectively no change to the truck since it was introduced to Aus in 2020. Every Gladiator Rubicon has the exact same drivetrain, running gear, frame, brakes, electronics and safety features from 2020 to the current model. I realise that this is not your fault, but it's regulatory insanity to say that the kit is fine on a brand new vehicle, but not one that is already registered. If the whole kit is being installed, what's the difference?? The backwater obstructionist rules over here in Aus are beyond ridiculous. They have effectively cut your potential market for this kit by 90%+. Again, not your fault, but that's the reality. I wish you luck.
