Quite a cruel woman really. Fancy adopting a twin boy and pretending to be his real mother. She probably wanted an insignificant resting place. Mary Poppins was the first film I saw at the cinema and was scared seeing all the nannies coming down from the sky with their open umbrellas.

You're right Ulla , she did seem very difficult and cruel regarding the way she dealt with people, but I think Walt Disney recognise this psychological problem from a childhood. She did want to write children's books. There must have been aspects of her that cared and by adopting the child she was doing a nice thing ultimately. We don't know to find detail so we can't really comment but I do think she should have something to represent her rather than a forgotten old plaque. Anyway, thank you for your observations. @@MotorHomeBeepBeep Mate I haven't been great I have recently dianosed as having Sjogren's Syndrome its an autoimmune diaease, which has effected my body I have been attending Rheumatology with the bloods and speech has been effected my salivia glands make no salivia I have very little food taste there is no cure for SS the body is attacking within its self, so have more tests and another MRI mate

Hi everyone, I never saw the original Mary Poppins, I was 15 or 16 then so interested in other things 😊. However, I did see Mary Poppins Returns, which came out in 2018. It was so magical that I got emotional at times. I know people who saw the original probably wouldn't like it. P L Travers would have hated the animated scenes, I loved it. I loved the film Mary Poppins, I saw it when I was 11, I also watched the 2008 Mary Poppins Returns and loved it as well. It was not a remake of the original, but a sequel so I don't see why anyone would not like it as well as the first film.
