This silly. You are kept by Christ in the Holy Spirit. Sealed until the day of redemption. Read your Bible. Stay out of the Old Testament. After Genesis 11th chapter, the dispensation changes. It is primarily focused on the ground work of a people the be called Israel. During the process we are a shadow in Genesis 17th chapter. Afterwards, our time come in Romans through Philemon. That's our GOSPEL. Remember, the Scriptures are good for instructions, corrections and reproof. But most of the Old Testament was dealing with the tribes of Israel. Know your audience while reading. Example: My people = Israel, Earthly things= Israel, Kings and Kingoms=Israel If you notice, Jesus spoke about His Father in heaven; but never told Israel about going to heaven.

Whenever someone says Satan, I bind you it is always in response to something that was said or something they may have thought or said themselves, and they are simply coming against the thought. It’s no different than saying “hey, you’re singing blew me away the other day” if I go by your training or thought then I would say well somebody must’ve brought you back. I blew you away SMH. I play my nephew and Mortal Kombat last night and after beating him, I said I let you up so now according to your thoughts, I have to say well who put them out if you let them up, that’s ridiculous. When I first got saved I got sucked into a charismatic church. And I was someone gave me a book by “apostle” John Eckhardt called “prayers that rout demons”. I just found the book and I had to quote a prayer from this book because it is absolutely absurd. I can’t believe I used to recite these!! May God have mercy on me. Praise God I was led away from the Pentecostal movement fairly quickly. “I command the morning to take hold of the ends of the earth and shake the wicked out of it” (Job 38:12) This is insane! God is literally rebuking Job in that passage and making the point that God ALONE is the one who commands the morning, etc.! Absolutely wild stuff.

Yeah, we also have to be careful quoting from the book of Job. For example Job 22:28 "You shall decree a thing and it shall be established for you." Charismatics and word of faith would take this to mean "name it and claim it" When this quote comes from one of Job's friends who gave incorrect arguments and was rebuked by God (Job 42:7). Only God can call things into existence that don't exist (Romans 4:17).

Hey Corey, question my brotha. Why did you delete my comment? It was a nice and respectable comment. I just disagreed. I was just saying that people that don’t believe in the authority of the believer are usually people who’ve never seen it personally or experienced deliverance first hand. I went to Mexico to preach the gospel saw demons being cast out in the streets. No show. No cameras. Just ministry. That also means that people we see all the time completely possessed by evil spirits have no hope of being delivered. Jesus comes to set the captive free through the body of Christ whom we are. The ministry of the Holy Spirit never ended with the apostles.

Satan is allowed to do what he does which is temp us, discourage us and all the above so therefore he will always come back whether we bind him temporarily from our thoughts or rebuke him. That's his job to do evil until we die or until Jesus returns and casts him to hell. But we can pray for Satan to be defeated in his actions toward us. Even the bible says to resist the devil and he will flee, however he will come back because he is a spirit.

I think there is a great misunderstanding here. When a believer exercises authority, it’s supposed to be done in complete submission to the Holy Spirit. If he asks you to do something, you should do it. Mark 16 is clear that these signs will accompany those who believe: So who are those who believe? It is clear that those who believe and are baptized will be saved and those who do not believe will be condemned. It is not a far stretch to say that believers will: “in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” If we are considered to be God’s Children, are not the sons of kings granted certain privileges? … much less to the children of the King of kings, the Name above all names! If Satan is making war against the children of God, are we to stand on the battlefield defenseless? We put on the armor Paul describes and we preach the gospel and His Word will not return void. Sounds like we have tasks, assignments, and the power to carry them out. The wisdom of when and how to carry it out is granted by the Holy Spirit

@@Msmanimckinsey great question. The issue we have is that we, as believers, do not have the full authority, we are still under God’s authority for His purposes. If a believer decides (in their own will) to go heal people at a children’s hospital by using the name of Jesus.. that would be for their own glory and their own benefit because it was originating from their own mind. For example, God may be using a certain condition of sickness to grow a person’s prayer life and relationship with Him and we do not possess the authority to override that by healing them in Jesus name. That’s outside the authority of God. We cannot operate in our own authority. That would be rogue. That said, here is where wisdom comes in, when the Holy Spirit gives clear direction to a believer to go lay hands on and pray for a person beside the gas station in a blue hat with a hole in their jeans, in obedience to the Spirit, they then carry the authority to do so and we can have great expectation of God’s divine work in them while using us to participate in accomplishing His will. It is the Spirit who gives the wisdom and knowledge of when, how, and where The authority is only found in obedience to Him. I hope this helps. God bless you

If Jesus said it and did it for his Apostles and his other disciples back then he surely can do it for me today in 2024 and those who desire to do the works that he did. Why? Because Jesus said in the book of Mark 16:17-18 that he would give us this authority if we ask it. I hope this helps you to study God's word and not listen to people on KZbin because the Jesus I serve wants us to do great things with what he gives us the power to do in authority in his name if and only if Jesus has anointed a person to do it.

It is clear that Corey has never experienced or received the spiritual gifts he is dismissing. The authority is obviously not ours but it is in us because we have faith in Christ. Believers can exercise authority. "When the Holy Spirit come upon you, you shall receive power" If you have the Holy Spirit, you have proxy authority of Christ. It belongs to Christ but you are able to exercise it coz you're in Him.

@Lisa-fp8im I won't be able to answer according to the conditions. What I will say is Jesus didn't teach everyone how to cast out demons. I believe one of Jesus's disciples 12 was a gentile to be honest. After Jesus ascended we see non apostles casting out demons and no scriptures indicate that Jesus in the flesh taught Paul or Barnabas how to cast out demons.

@@djhona_againstthegrain The "He" that is in you is the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit that is in you is greater than he (Satan) that is in the world. Greater works is often explained as we as Christians will do better, bigger works than Jesus did. But "greater" can also mean "more." It's clear that we've been able to reach more people because of road infrastructure, phones, Internet etc. But we don't see any works that are objectively greater than what Jesus did. So the "greater" means "more" definition is likely.

Greater is he that is in you is the Lord, because of his Spirit in you is greater than the devils spirit that’s in the world. Greater works means more works as in more people who can do those works, also not every Christian is going to be doing the same works. Some will just preach the gospel, some will heal the sick, some will prophesy, and so on, not every Christian has the same gifts, that’s why not all of them are doing the same things

Ok. I was trying to tie everything together since Mr. Cory said when He gave power for the disciples to do those particular works, He wasn’t necessarily talking to us, the “Gentiles” in this era. So I was just cross referencing Scripture for clarity; we “can” perform the miracles the disciples performed but as stated, Holy Spirit gives gifts to whom He chooses. Got it!

These 12 are the apostles to the Jews in the prophetic program, not to the Gentiles. Proof text Matt 19: 27-28 27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Jesus, John and the 12 preached the gospel of the Kingdom for Salvation in the prophetic program. Eph 1: 13-14 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. The moment you believe the gospel of Christ, you are sealed by the Holy Spirit as an earnest (down payment) until redeemed. The Holy Spirit is the down payment, see it? The scriptures say, "sealed with the Holy Spirit which is the earnest" the down payment, the guarantee until redeemed. You have the guarantee of the Holy Spirit until redeemed. What God has sealed no man can open! Make sure you are trusting the Gospel of Christ for Salvation Today!!! Eph 6:19

The Bible says YOU SHALL RECEIVE POWER after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. The promise is to you and your children! The reason people don’t see the power and authority is because a lack of faith! This is the same Holy Ghost the apostle has. Not saying we have the same power they had but to doubt its existence simply cuz you don’t see it happening in large numbers is just stupid. And you contradicted yourself! You said “only jesus rebuked satan” but satan is clearly still around. So it’s same with us. We rebuke him and he flees from us too. The reason why (I think) we don’t see it is cuz people want spectacle. Instead of glorifying God we ready to pull out our phones and record! But don’t be fooled God is working real miracles, speaking real word, and moving in people’s lives. You sound like a nonbelieving skeptic. Even jesus didn’t do all the stuff you said. He didn’t clear our entire hospitals or remove all the gangs from neighborhoods. Or go into the prisons and set everyone free. He did what he could according to the faith the people had in him!

So if someone has the spiritual gift of discernment of spirits (for example) , you think God will give someone power discern but not the power to pray over or correct it? That’s like giving the police the power to find crime but no power to arrest someone if something is truly wrong. Makes no senses nor was it that way in the Bible. Anyone who was given the gift was automatically given some level of authority or power. He acting like cuz people don’t do it or see it in mass, that it ain’t real. I’ve laid hands on myself and was instantly healed literally in my living room. Doesn’t mean I can do it at will but doesn’t mean that the power of God was fake.

I have been a believer since 1980 i was a teenager then and i have witnessed people delivered from demon possession, i have seen the sick healed including myself, because the believing believer exercises his authority in Christ.
