The Autobot that everyone forgot about. The disposable afterthought that is Jolt. So I was thinking of an origin video to do on a Transformer and while in the process of constructing it I came to 1 funny conclusion. Not all robots in the Bay films are capable of having an origin video. And that's simply because there's not really much to write home about. And this issue is usually remedied by the extensive lore of the tie-in comics. If we didn't get much screen time or dialogue from a Transformer in the movies, we could get more of them in the comics. But this particular character has nothing going for him. And that is the disposable afterthought, better known as Jolt. Now I've been thinking of a lot of ideas regarding Jolt. Because he's arguably the most underutilized Transformers in the Bay films. There's just no other way I can put it. If you ask anybody about him they just go "oh that 1 guy that helped Optimus fuse with Jetfire?! Yeah I remember him, kinda." And I always wondered why Michael Bay would even create a character just to serve a minute role such as that. I mean yeah we've had many throwaway characters who've been used as cannon fodder. And you have those token characters that are used to move the plot forward. But what exactly was his reason for introducing Jolt?

Jolt was the main character for the Universal Studios 3D Transformers Ride. He had a good amount of lines for a 5 minute virtual roller coaster. You actually ride Jolt in his alt mode for the entire ride.

Jolt being able to transfer those afterburners proves he's a better medic than Ratchet, a real shame that he was written off but that's one of those sad things about the Bayformers movies. Not enough time to flesh out all those cool robots on the big screen but at least he's remembered and appreciated, thanks for shouting him out RBG! Truth be told I'd love to see Jolt, Dyno and that CAT crane autobot from Last Knight get a movie all their own. Maybe them and some background decepticons forming a "Truce" and trying to get away from a Cemetery Wind style anti-transformer task force?

Jolt had a spot in the movie in the renderings but when it came to film. GM didn't have 4 running functional Volts to give production for the live action scenes. Because it was still in practical testing as a prototype. Similar to Bumblebee in the first film. Where they converted a GTO into a Camaro, they didn't see the need to go through all of the same expense for back burner character just to get him on screen.

Jolt was my favorite character alongside Sideswipe and Ironhide. I'm still sad how I never got neither ROTF or DOTM toy of him. I think he could get reworked into a badass character. Just because he wasn't in G1 it doesn't mean he can't appear in G1 based series, because Bulkhead took the spotlight in Prime series.
