@ShadowMantraSteve BTW I'm nailing it too. Wish I had a laptop and recording software.. I'm trying not to make faces playing lol. It's hard not to cause I do the same mouth expressions as you do. I think it's a natural thing. And it's bad ass. Thanks bro
@fredriksvard26033 жыл бұрын
Nice dude. Are there any effects like wah, whammy, phaser or something on the guitars? When i play by the tabs its like theres something missing that makes the notes swell, especially during the last part.
@ShadowMantraSteve3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I don't think I've got the original project folder but I don't think I added any effects to the main guitars. The melodic phrases probably have some delay and reverb on though. I play quite heavy handed with a fairly thick pick so some of it might be the strings bending so very slightly out of tune as I'm playing.
@fredriksvard26033 жыл бұрын
@@ShadowMantraSteve Thanks! Yeah that could be it, i think gojira mentioned they use the amps natural response for that too - not ultra tight and noisegated but a bit more loose and organic. Reverb and delay on some of the melodic stuff for sure, especially live. Really underrated song imo.

Btw sounds great. I love the guitar I always thought caddy’s were fugly but that color scheme makes it. If you love MLs and Paul’s well..I even had one in silver burst back before mastodon etc (I know tool and soundgarden started it) but it had a high fret so back to the store it went after a month
@ShadowMantraSteve5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I don't know why I'm drawn to caddys, just something a little different about. To answer your other question I normally take the drums from a guitar pro file on ultimate guitar and run the midi through Steven Slate Drums 4. Hope to eventually start working with real drums though.
@sevenstone47725 жыл бұрын
Shadow Mantra Steve super helpful information. Ironically I found and subbed your channel because my card got stolen that ultimate guitar was payed with. So it didn’t even give me the shitty guess tabs. But this video had me feeling pretty solid after about an hour after hearing it so many times before...

I’m having trouble finding answers elsewhere, so here I am..I’m a pro member of ultimate guitar, how do I download the midi? Do I download a pdf and use a converter? Or is there a setting I’m missing
@ShadowMantraSteve5 жыл бұрын
I download a guitar pro file, then in guitar pro you can export the file as a midi file. If you solo on track in guitar pro if only gives you the midi for that track rather than all of them.

Dumb question: when you do the strumming at 0:18 do you slightly play the 5th string or do you strum it with the same intensity as the 6th string?

Thanks 🤘 personally it was just a case of building it up over time to build up the muscles and muscle memory. I find guitar pro very useful for building up speed as it can be set to increase speed gradually with each repeat.
