aleshenka follows a pattern of myths about malformed births, for example the jersey devil. such folktales are meant to be warnings about taking care of your family and self when pregnant. Remember before modern medicine any birth could potentially kill mother and infant, and they didn't understand birth defects as we do. They thought babies were born malformed or monsters because of the wrath of god or sin on the mother's part. And so miscarriages and malformed baby legends faded into myths as the science of obstetrics became prominent. The thing to keep in mind about these myths is that they almost always shame the mother or caregiver for some form of misbehavior towards the child. The story of aleshenka is an attempt to revive this tradition I believe, it follows a modern interpretation of the format very well.

That would just be a very premature baby, born too early. The line between a miscarriage and a premature birth is really just if the baby can survive for a while.
@darrenlamb56403 жыл бұрын
@@jasminecollins897 yes. A miscarriage by definition would not be alive at birth and a baby born alive but without viability would be premature... just too premature to survive. I know this because my ex wife and I lost a baby at 5 months gestation which was not a miscarriage as she was born alive and lived for 20 minutes. We later went on to have a daughter who was born at 29 weeks and although very premature she was viable and is today a 15 year old about to begin her final year at high school who averages brilliant grades.
@KathyPrendergast-cu5ci Жыл бұрын
@@darrenlamb5640 A friend of mine lost twins at about 5 months into her pregnancy. I heard from a mutual friend later that one of the twins, a set of identical girls, was born alive and actually cried for a short time before it died. So yes, there’s a thin line between a miscarriage and a premature birth. The baby in this case could have been disposed of by its mother’s family for any number of reasons, maybe just because of its unusual appearance and being so premature. Maybe they didn’t realize it was still alive, or just didn’t care, which is a horrible thought. So that’s why Tamara heard it crying. That of course doesn’t explain the younger Tamara’s side of the story. Re. the DNA testing, it’s possible that this child had some kind of very rare genetic birth defect, which would have explained both its appearance and its genes not seeming to be quite normal. Just because the doctor who had examined the body had never seen anything like this before doesn’t mean it wasn’t human. There are some people with what are known as “orphan” genetic syndromes, meaning they are literally the only person in the world who has it. Some human genetic abnormalities can be truly bizarre.

They handed the body over to a ufologist, instead of to an acclaimed university. That was a TERRIBLE idea!
@ObeyCamp4 жыл бұрын
Goo Lagoon That's probably not what actually happened to the baby's body, it's just one of the many stories. Actually, it sounds like a misinterpretation of one of the more common stories, that a UFOlogist _made the claim that the baby was taken away in a UFO full of adult aliens_ , not that the UFOlogist took the baby's body himself. Unlikely at best. "Very little is known about what happened to Aleshenka Erashov’s remains, and accounts of its death and appearance vary greatly. A local ufologist claimed that the corpse was taken away by a UFO inhabited by members of Aleshenka's species. Some sceptics hold that it was bought by a wealthy collector of curiosities. A doctor from the local hospital who had allegedly seen the corpse claimed that it corresponded to a normal 20-25 week human foetus, prematurely born. It could have lived for several hours, but not several weeks, contrary to Prosvirina's claims. According to genetic experts at the Moscow Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, DNA analysis of the clothes Aleshenka was wrapped in revealed no evidence that "he" was extraterrestrial. On April 15, 2004, the scientists made an official statement that the "Kyshtym creature" was a premature female human infant, with severe deformities. The Kyshtym disaster of 1957 (Level 6 on the International Nuclear Event Scale) seriously contaminated the area with radiation and greatly affected the health of local population. Strange deformities of a human foetus could possibly be caused by long-term effects of radiation."

@sarahgray4306 жыл бұрын
The compassion of this old woman is touching, and it is sad how baby Aleshenka died. While he/she may have indeed been an alien, I would not rule out the possibility that Aleshenka was a severely deformed child. My husband's brother was found in a snowbank by Finnish soldiers near the end of World War II and taken to Canada by his adoptive parents, but he was actually fairly "normal" compared to their own son, who was born with a birthmark called the "murrati" on the back of his head which in his family is supposed to indicate the ability to communicate with spirits, and a few other odd traits including slightly webbed toes, delicately pointed ears, and strange, silvery-blue eyes that sometimes seemed to glow. Both our children were born with the birth mark, but my son had yet another genetic aberration that was much more problematic, as when he was born he had what the doctors called a "totally anomalous pulmonary inversion", which in layman's terms means that his heart was backwards and had a hole in it. He was operated on when he was a month old, and he is now a strong and healthy little boy with his father's wonderful silvery-blue eyes, and his sister (who aside from having flaming red hair is physically the "normal" one of the family but has many traits that suggest that she may have high-functioning Asperger's syndrome) teases her "mutant" brother, and he teases her right back about her hair!

Such an interesting and sad story. Recently (I believe April 2018?) a team of genetic researchers found that an infant that looked similar to this baby was found in Mexico. That one was proven to have a rare form of dwarfism. In both of these cases, the babies were most likely abandoned (if they were really born alive at all) because their parents were terrified of their appearence and didn't understand what was going on with their child. All I can say is good for this woman for making an attempt to help. This is so, so sad.

Some of the ones that were in there, didn't make it. It was so upsetting for all of us mothers and the nurses. All though one idiot mother, left to go camping with her boyfriend after her less than one pound baby was born. She didn't care. They couldn't reach her to tell her the child was dead. Everyone on the maternity ward mourned and cried but her. We all knew the poor tiny thing was better off, sad as it was and all hoped she'd never become pregnant again. I am reminded of a story I heard a while back. It also happened in the Soviet Union. There was a woman who was thought to be a Sasquatch being held by a local person or family. In this case,however, there was a grave and the body was exhumed. DNA tests revealed she was actually a human, apparently from sub-Saharan Africa. On the one hand, much ado about nothing, on the other, so much the worse because of the suffering of a human being inflicted by other human beings.
@Zeruel36 жыл бұрын
She was described as a 'wild woman', the term has a much more ominous meaning in that context The likely explanation for the woman (Zana) is that she was descended from slaves who'd escaped into the mountains after being brought north to the Caucuses by the Ottoman Empire (like the Maroons in the Deep South, South America and the Carribean). Another is that she was descended from a small group that had lived in Abkhazia for millennia after leaving Africa. Either way Zana was very likely one of the last of her people, akin to the Man of the Hole in Brazil and may well have spent almost all her life prior to capture alone, a very sad existence

My family especially me and my dad have been followed by UFO's all our lives.......I know I am just a random person on the internet but I swear may God strike me dead at my keyboard right now If I am lying to you.

The odds that a living organism evolved in a world completely alien from the earth could be fed with human food are rather low. Even if the reminiscences are correct, the sheer fact that this thing consumed and survived on, human food seems to corroborate the fact that it was, in fact, a human foetus.
@callmewaves11606 жыл бұрын
Except that the old woman looking after the baby went to the neighbors for help because the baby was sick. Which would say to me that maybe it wasn't surviving off human food.

So if we visited an alien planet in the distant future....there's ZERO chance of us being able to eat anything on it?
@Baalur6 жыл бұрын
@@Sorrowdusk basically yes. Just look at how few plants and animals we can safely eat. And those are from the planet we evolved on. There are so many possible different paths of evolution. It is almost impossible extraterrestial life and thus food is compatible to us in any way.

Reminds me of an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents (or maybe Alfred Hitchcock’s Hour) where a lady finds a “baby” and keeps it in her room and won’t let anyone see the baby. When she finally gets hauled off it’s found out the “baby” is actually a cat.

If you've seen the photos of actual children deformed from the radiation at Chernobyl when the reactor exploded, it is indeed a deformed child from a similar catastrophic event. I remember photos that were sad and horrifying back in the early 90s from that event. And the story embellishes with time on the baby's deformed appearance. Very sad.
@PrimateProductions6 жыл бұрын
@@rudyfionatacticalparents6805 I have seen babies with severe birth defects that look as if it was not possible that they were born of human parents (of course they did not live for long if at all). I also grew up with a guy whose mom took thalidomide (will have to check spelling) while pregnant with him. When he was born he no kidding had a head/face that had characteristics of a fish!! They did not expect him to live but if course he did and went through numerous surgeries mainly for facial/cranial reconstruction. He bad no hair. He was born with no ears and his head was no kidding shapes like and had the characteristics of a fish..his head/face was elongated and his eyes were on the sides of his head like a fish...you would just have to see it to believe it..and to see early pics of him is quite shocking. I was also a nurse for over 20 years and have seen a few fetuses and newborns that had severe deformities so i say based on some of the ones I have seen this baby definitely could have been a deformed human.

Whatever the baby was, it breaks my heart that they didn’t even check the room the woman said he was in. Even if they hadn’t believed her, the least they could’ve done, if just to calm the mother, was to look. But no. No one looked, and - in my opinion - they killed that baby. They just left a baby (whatever his species) to die, scared, alone, and starving. That child didn’t deserve that; it literally did nothing wrong. My heart just breaks thinking about it.
@michellereionodera4 жыл бұрын
The only smart and pragmatic person in this story is Tamara Sr., the old lady who took Aleshanka in. Instead of being disgusted by Aleshenka or trying to determine their origins or whatever, she was just like "oh look, a starving baby, I'll feed and name them and even bury them if they die". This story is heartbreaking in that it captures the heartlessness of human adults: the Russian government more interested in covering up their failure to take care of their citizens (Tamara Sr. and Aleshenka), Nuridinov who couldn't be fucked to bury the dead child, the scientists who were more interested in figuring out if Aleshenka was an alien or not, and Tamara Jr. who was too disgusted by the baby to bury him.

This would be much more compelling had the fetus *not been found in an area that has been contaminated by nuclear radiation* - stated at the beginning of this video. It's cut-and-dry that it's a significantly deformed human fetus mutated by exposure to radiation.
