Excellent. It's a bit sad though, that Marie is still missing. I hope she will be found alive. Not much chance though. Maybe she's still alive but in a different galaxy. She, herself was the only witness, however to these UFOs so perhaps she planned to elope with someone. She would have to have been a good actress and liar though and as the marriage was a good one it seems obviously unlikely she eloped. The fowl play theory doesn't fit in with the sightings. A real brain twisting mystery.

The only Brit KZbinr who can carry off an Aussie accent 👍 I think you're my favorite KZbin horror/mystery narrator. Your stories are always presented in an intelligent and believable way, with lots of relevant detail, and you don't get carried away trying to dramatically accentuate the scary parts (some narrators take it to a cringey extent). You seem like a very honest and down to earth person. Thank you for your work here, and please keep it up.

There are literally dozens, if not a couple of hundred different accents in the UK, and I can't think of one that's remotely like an Australian accent. Or what we'd call an "Australian accent", as I'm sure there are quite a few discernable accents in Australia.

There was a post on here from a girl who shared this story on Reddit about her friend Marie that went missing in TX almost identical other than this was changed to happen in Australia. So it looks like someone pinched it off reddit change the location and sent it into BT. I can't find her post now but BT replied to her, liked her post and mentioned that the story came from one of their followers so they can only share what they did... Also, I thought it was odd to say Jenny wouldn't go with Marie because it's getting dark, well its going in to spring in September so it wouldn't be getting dark that early I don't live in SA but it doesn't here in Brisbane! Not like it does during fall (autumn) in the USA in sept! Still an awesome story tho!! I love BT

Roger would be the main suspect. He and his wife were having troubles and they lived in a remote area. The stories Marie was talking about would be a good cover for what happened. After she disappeared, he got witnesses and made an excuses for why his tire tracks would be out there. No one would know what goes on behind closed doors, so neighbors would testify about his good character.
@felicitybywater8012
@felicitybywater8012 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the partner is the most likely suspect, according to the police and they would know. However, the lights she saw (if that's what they were) may have been a lure. She may have had a stalker. There are few surveillance cameras in and around country towns to track the movements of a stalker. Alternatively, she hallucinated the lights/ mistook ordinary lights for aliens and, in her fear/awe, imagined they flew overhead. Then she just fell in a hole looking for their source and will not be found until that bit of land is worked by its owner. The other violent outcome would involve an out-of-towner/s who promised to drive her home after she got too tired to run or walk home and then raped and murdered her, after she had taken off her shoes with her toes (explaining her socks still in them). I hope her friends and family get an answer soon. They always say, in similar circumstances, "not knowing is the worst part".

@jacksmedullaoblongata7659

The shoes with the socks still inside is a common find in some of these weird disappearances. Sometimes there are even foot bones inside the socks, as if the upwards force lifting the person is so intense that it pulls them right out of their shoes, sometimes even, their feet. Whatever those crafts were, they were aware of Marie and she became easy pickings by returning at regular times each day.

Valentich case has a pretty reasonable explanation - he was a very unexperienced pilot and if my memory serves me well even had troubles finishing his flight school, it is entirely possible that while flying in the dark he lost control over the plane position and the plane started spinning, so he was flying upside down in some moments. That obstructed the flow of fuel to the engine due to the plane construction and resulted in his plane crashing into the water. The lights he saw was his own and sounds on the record were of his engine stopping due to the lack of fuel. This one however is not easy to explain if we exclude the husband as potential killer, cause he knew about UFO's and could arrange the sneakers and socks found. But without a motive it's kinda nonsensical.

@@osakarose5612 The little detail about the shoes feels like someone writing this story thought to themselves: "People will think she most likely just got kidnapped or murdered. If I put in an inexplicable detail then they can't say it wasn't aliens." Funny that the alien abductors were so selective about leaving the socks and shoes behind but her clothes went with her. Also the husband would certainly have known what his wife's running shoes looked like so if any were found then he would have identified the shoes as either belonging to her or not.

Aliens obviously select to abduct these people without their currently used shoes and socks. The only logical explanation here is that they are being provided with clean ones in exchange. This explains why so many socks disappear from the laundry. Maybe the aliens are concerned about the effect of dirty soaked socks on their guests feet.

A very interesting video and sadly just one example of many. I have family in Australia and the last time I was talking to them the conversation turned to the outback generally and how the vast majority of the island is uninhabitable in terms of sustainable long term settlements. They mentioned off hand that people I Australia do just disappear sometimes and that this is apparently a very common occurrence. Their opinion is that it’s the outback that gets people. It is so vast and virtually uninhabited and scarcely travelled, that realistically if you go out in a small group, even just for a camping trip, and get lost or get into trouble, then you are effectively on your own and unless someone has a really good radio or a specialist survival phone then you simply cannot rely on outside help. My uncle told me about a time when he was out there on a mountain biking trip. They are all experienced outdoorsmen so drive way out there with the idea of making camp far from civilisation and generally living it rugged for a week or so. They had plenary of supplies, working to a rule he has of if you think you’ll be out in the outback for a week take two weeks worth of food and water, and spare tires etc. After their week, they were planning to return and the geep just wouldn’t start. Nothing they tried would get it going and there would be no way in Hell they could cycle all the way back and survive. It was like being stuck in a dinghy in the middle of the Ocean apparently. They were stuck for two days before being spotted by a helicopter from a sheep farm and rescued shortly after. That was a group of guys with tents and a geep who were intentionally trying to be spotted. Even then it was pure luck that saved them. Unfortunately if they had been hikers or loan runners etc, it is likely they would have died of dehydration or exposure and the chances are they would never be found. The outback is just too big to have a good chance of finding people. This reminds me of the episode you did about people disappearing in US national parks. Maybe you should do one on the Outback too
@snazzy19
@snazzy19 6 жыл бұрын
I live in the Clare Valley where this story was set. It is no where near the outback, in fact you would have to drive over 200km from Watervale to get anywhere near the outback. I have also never heard of a missing woman case from Watervale, and I have lived here my entire life. There have been other cases of missing persons locally but they have mostly been found as mental health issues resulting in finding the person, either alive or deceased.

I grew up in the Mallee district, the largest open area of Victoria, takes about 6 hours at 100kph to get across. Searching on the internet, I couldn't find anything about Marie, lighting serious doubt on the story as a whole. But the story could have some reasonable explanations: 1) hallucination, she was schizophrenic or something like it and she could have died by an accident trying to flee from her hallucinations. 2) Otherwise she could have been followed and pursued by someone other weeks and this person killed her.

I've seen some weird stuff, which included strange luminous orbs and, strangest of all, a ghost Concorde. It appeared to glow, albeit dimly, and then just blinked out in the night sky. This odd looking aircraft was also moving unusually slowly, and very quietly. The area in which I had seen these things wasn't very far from Chilcomb, Hampshire, which was already known for UFO activity. However, I must stress that my claim is no supported by evidence, and relates to observed activity in 1992. With no supporting evidence, I cannot fairly expect people to believe this.

Interesting story and upload, thankyou. Just a side note, I live next to Clare Valley (Barossa) and you will find that South Australians sounds more like you than east coast Aussies, less nazal and more english sounding. When we go to England, it is common for poms to think we are not Australian. This is for a couple of reasons inciuding the mass EU and English immigration we have had here dating back to the start of colonization by displaced peoples (many Silasian, Dutch and later, loads of English) right up until the 1970s. Also, there are six states and two major Territories (ACT and NT), there are many more Territories, but they are the major two that are always mentioned. If you look at our flag, this is why we have a seven pointed star below the Union Jack, six of which represent 6 states and 1 point to represent Territories. Keep up the good work, cheers CC123

So sad how these beings take off with our loved ones without even the slightest of care for our human emotions. We as humans, must make a promise to never allow such horrible practices of studying/ researching other forms of life to be allowed in the future. She is gone, and she will never be back. Like so many others. Including my little brother. I can only pray that if these people we once shared memories and moments with didn’t go through too much trauma before transitioning to the next level. I have always been hopeful they are all still alive out there. Possibly enjoying more of the cosmos and knowledge we all here have yet to perceive or become aware of. Either way. May all who have lost a loved one to the unknown beings that come from other worlds live in solace. And know it is not our fault. Bless and practice Love Imagination Faith and Energy LIFE

Your stories are usually spot-on, but I just did some Google searches for this incident and there is NOTHING, except references to this video. I think it's best to not use subscriber stores. Or at least tell us up front if it's a fictional, then we can enjoy it for what it is. I don't doubt far-out shit happens. Some friends and I had a bizarre paranormal experience in 1980, but I rarely ever discuss it because no one would believe it. Anyway keep up the good work.

The more that I look into this story the more I begin to believe that it was made up by the subscriber who submitted it in. There are no news articles about a women disappearing in the south Australian town of Watervale. For some reason I keep getting directed to the disappearance of a marathon runner called "Elisa Curry" who actually went missing in the state of Victoria and involved no paranormal or supernatural activity. There should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the video or in the videos description addressing the story as being a work of fiction otherwise viewers that do not look further into the story will believe it as truth. Just putting "A subscriber story" in the title and description is a little bit misleading as all it means is an account of a story from a subscribers point of view. After all, the channel describes itself to "cover the most chilling cases throughout history" rather then tell fictional stories like over channels such as Mr. Nightmare and MrCreepyPasta. If you want to tell fictional stories then just say that it is a fictional story.
@BedtimeStoriesChannel

Thanks, I'll take this on board. The thing is, I'm never sure whether it's a fictional story or not as not all the details are provided. I don't want to insult the person who submitted it by calling them a liar, which is effectively what I would be doing if I labelled it fictional. Maybe a bit more digging on my part is required, so I'll bear that in mind.

To me it's almost a game. Some episodes I'll hear a few things and think, "Holy crap, for real?" and more or less believe it and don't feel a need to see if it was. Other times it's pretty obvious it's urban legend. Other times, like this one, let's just say I fell for it and wouldn't have known better if I didn't scroll down. Goes to show how oddities in the world stand on the line of what we assume fact and fiction, and the show exploits that. And I love that this is called Bedtimes Stories. :-)
