I can picture my niece in this experiment. Instead of standing there pushing with a puzzled look on her face, she would get so mad she would start screaming and throw the cart, mat, and all across the room. Of course, she has some spunk and don't take no crap. I guess that's why I love her so much. Kind of a little monster though.

He likely remembered that the cart usually moves when he's sitting in it, as his parents likely have him sitting in the cart as they push it, and thought that he needed to be inside the cart for it to work.

Human growth is absolutely wild. In just a few months, a human being can go from "I have absolutely no idea what's happening here" to an extremely rudimentary but effective understanding of physics, inertia, etc., among other things. Life is crazy lol

We are seeing the same thing in artificial intelligence; training computer models - going seemingly nowhere fast - but then exponential progress towards solving a problem with capabilities of solving problems in seemingly unrelated areas. The jump is quite like the few months of "magic" that gives a human an idea of self. Incredible stuff

Why did you put the handle on it? handles are for pulling not pushing so it only makes sense that when i pull on the thing that is meant to be pulled, that it would be pulled. more specifically, pulled open. you and i both know that the design is flawed and people have been complaining about it for a long time so why keep it there? Are you trying to embarrass me? Are you trying to create a situation in which i pull on the door and then somebody says "excuse me" and pushes the door open while i sit there looking like a conspiracy theorist who just learned about mk ultra? screw you kelly. Kelly's isnt even a creative name or anything, you just put in your name with an apostrophe and an 's' and thought "thats a good name for a store" it isnt a good name for a store, kelly, if thats even your real name.

I'm a grandfather to a 26 month old boy. He's our first grandchild so to say he's special is an understatement. The whole family has made a point of speaking with him from an early age. We play-by-play our actions and activities with him so that he associated the sounds of the words with the activity. I baby-sit one day while mom is at work. Reading stories was a big part of his daily routines, from playtime to before his naps. His speech and understanding seems to have developed early as a result. We've videos of him reciting the stories from those books from memory from well before he was two. He has always been able to communicate his wants and needs, and he frequently chats along describing what he's doing as a result. He forms complete sentences and puts words together in appropriate grammar for the most part. Still has an incomplete understanding of some words, like when he calls himself you (like we do) and will say OK instead of yes sometimes. We've made a point of including limitations too, such as not too much screen time on TV and computer videos. We can see how such verbal stimulation seems to have sparked his curiosity. We've made a point of introducing physical activity too. He loves winding up to do a hockey slap-shot into his tyke-sized goal net, and he loves outdoor activities like his stride bike and snow-rider. We've introduced him to the alphabet, and he recognizes and identifies letters and words. We've always made learning as part of his playtime, so there's no pressure put on him to make 'accomplishments' other than have fun. (We've not pushed toilet training, as that will come when he's ready. - Yes we have the potty book, and read it to him so he has the idea of what's coming next.) Surprised how he's become a bit of a neat freak, where he would rather use a fork so as not to get his fingers sticky, and will pick up pieces of lint off the floor from the pets. He remembers events well, especially 'firsts' like visiting an airport, and recently flying in an airplane, which he will talk about well after they happened. . His understanding of what's happening seems to be beyond his age. It's been an amazing journey with many more adventures to come.

You seem like a wonderful granddad who is very proud of your little boy! Also it’s interesting to hear how he is growing and learning with you!! I hope this understanding of him being “beyond his age” is going to help him and not seperate him from fellow children. Seems like he might be highly intelligent and that’s as well a blessing as a curse. Anyway, enjoy your life together! He is lucky to have you around :)
@garymaclean690310 ай бұрын
@@MilouAT Thanks for your kind words! His parents are a doctor and a pyrogenic technician, so he'll likely be above average in many ways. We also make the effort to socialize him with kids his age in several activities. He has many contacts with all age groups, so I doubt he'll ever be shy, and would likely want to participate in group activities. You can't predict how kids will turn out, the best you can do is try to give them as many tools as you can to do well. We recently found him under his propped-up tricycle 'fixing the engine' with his toy tools. He clearly has a vivid imagination...!

I’ve noticed this with my daughter, whenever she does something an adult would do, or she displays some kind of adult mannerism, it’s incredibly cute. I’m assuming it has to do with encouraging parents to encourage their children to continue with adult type behavior.
