I noticed Ventress several times studying the connection between Omega and Batcher. My guess is that species is rarely tamed and she may see this as proof of Omega’s potential. Also, did anyone catch that little moment between crosshair and Ventress when he offered his hand to get her on the ship? Those two are PERFECT for each other lol… maybe Omega’s “parents” by the end???

I've never read Dark Disciple, but I think even just Ventress' appearances near the end of the Clone Wars set her character on the path to light enough that a casual watcher could buy how much she's changed by the time she appears in this show. Heck, even someone who hasn't watched much Clone Wars could probably be convinced because of how many parallels they draw between her and Crosshair. I think it's a good example of the show using its cameos in a way that doesn't necessarily require full, in-depth, prior knowledge about all the past media, and weaving them into the show in a way that makes sense.

I loved Ventress teaching Omega how to communicate with the Force. We rarely get emotional beats for such a chaotic neutral character... but when she gets hers they are something. I think a couple more breadcrumbs about her resurrection in Bad Batch... then give us the whole story in Tales of the Jedi. Do a Ventress story and a separate Voss story and have the stories converge together. GIVE THEM A HAPPY ENDING!! Then again... I'm bias. I named my dog Quinlan.

Omega has a better amount of Force sensitivity than most but clearly it isn't enough to do the more obvious abilities. Like with Sabine, I like that more mundane people can connect to the Force after training, meaning that the Jedi and the Sith taking in the most gifted was always easy mode.

Ventress: What makes you think you have a high M-count? Omega: Well, the Empire was doing a lot of blood tests. Ventress:...here, balance this fruit on your head. Granted, Ventress might not know anything about the sort of M-tests that we see Qui-Gon do, but that was a pretty obvious clue that Omega should have shared that would have given them a clue. And that second test was clearly just a scheme to get Omega out of earshot while the adults settled their differences.
@davepruitt
@davepruitt 2 ай бұрын
I think it's likely that Ventress knows about the automated test that we see Qui-Gon do, but maybe she doesn't have that equipment on her to do that test, so her only option is to do more "classical" tests to see if their is force sensitivity.
@chazo1367
@chazo1367 2 ай бұрын
@@davepruitt That and the tests themselves become pointless in a way as they said in the episode. Since they are working with the faulty assumption that is why the Empire wants her, when she is wanted to study how her clone body would allow Palpatine one without an M-count degradation.

Qui Gonn just pricked her and analyzed the blood lol. Ventress doesn't have that, she can't be sure. I don't think Omega has any significant force potential now but she could eventually. I think the blood test checked each sample's ability to keep midichlorians if they were artificially added. Her's was the first one that did not decrease so they want her to fix Palpatine's useless clone bodies.
@meswoopnoseenothing

Yeah I agree. Everything we’ve heard makes it pretty clear that the empire doesn’t care if she’s force sensitive, the tests are to check if m-count decreases in her blood, and it doesn’t, so she’s basically got the perfect donor blood for a palpatine clone. She absolutely could and probably is force sensitive, and maybe Ventress will train her. She’s probably more like Sabine who had to work and train years to be able to even use the force in ways others could do naturally on a whim.

I think the entire events surrounding Dark Disciple were classified by the Jedi Council, seeing as how the whole thing started as a coup to assassinate Dooku. Besides, none of the Council members were fond of Ventress to begin with and were under the impression that she lured Quinlan to the dark side (which was more or less true)…I don’t think they’d be so eager to paint her in a positive light in the archives.

I don’t think Omega’s value to the Empire has anything to do with force sensitivity. The Empire wants her because her blood works as a carrier, allowing the Emperor to clone his OWN blood. I further believe that this series exists specifically to save another current Star Wars property…hear me out: The Mandalorian series was created to provide an explanation for “Somehow Palpatine returned” and Snoke. This likely would necessitate a bad end for Grogu. The creation of Omega provides the writers an out from that fate. We still don’t know HOW we get to resurrect Palpatine, but remember that that is the primary motivation for two series at this point. Now Filoni just needs to get TO that point without limiting his Mandomovie.

Yes she may have figured the Emperor sees any force sensitive as a potential threat, but I suspect she thinks there is more going on and she sees TBB as a potential lead just as they see her as a lead. I'm late to the convo, but on the topic of clones being different and having potential to be trained in the Force: There was a TCW comic that ended up in Legends called "Defenders of the Lost Temple", focused on a unit led by B'ink Utrila and her padawan. One of the clone troopers was a rookie named "Glitch" - named as such because he was an incompetent soldier and had a weird obsession with the Force. It was an interesting short story that dabbled with the idea of an outcast clone learning about the Force and finding himself. He had a heartwarming friendship with the padawan, Rennax Omani, too. I'd love to see them migrating over to Canon, especially cos Glitch would fit definitely in with the Bad Batch

two thoughts I've had: Ventresses Test had a very old Jedi feeling about it, like before they only tested for the Midi-chlorian count. Also, when Omega claims that Ventress has no Idea on the boat... she literally saw her force-lift Wrecker

I doubt she is, the special thing about her is that she’s a clone with a higher midichlorian count meaning that she is PROOF of hemlocks goal that cloning can be done to increase a midichlorian amount, plus it could be compatible with palpatine to make future potentially force sensitive clones.

If Omega isn’t like fully force-sensitive, then at the very least her M-count being unchanged during the cloning process is something the Emperor would be interested in. Cause wasn’t that the problem with HIS clones? The m-counts kept diminishing our outright vanishing when they tried to make Palp clones?

that would definitely be awesome if omega was force sensitive and got her own story line, in the pre New hope era, but honestly I dont think theres room for her to become a jedi, I really think two things will happen at the end of bad batch, either Omega gets captured and sacificed to clone the emporor, or the empire catches her and gets the samples they need from her, and the bad batch dies saving her. idk its the only thing that makes sense, kinda like what happened at the end of rogue, lol no happy ending

I dont get why everyone still is so hung up on Omega being force sensitive. I dont think she is and the blood analysis of hers on Tantiss did not result in her blood having a high M-count but the result showed that her blood does not reduce the M-count if it is added. So what she is is a blueprint for a clone that can be infused with Midichlorians from some other source without loosing that M-count afterwards. It does not mean that she already has a high M-count herself. But this is what Palps wants: A clone body of himself that is modified in a way that makes it possible to suck the force out of other people and transfer it to him. Because this is the only way a clone can get a high M-count.
@zgolamnobee2836
@zgolamnobee2836 2 ай бұрын
yeah, its exactly this. I think some people misinterpreted omega's blood results on tantiss. She has blood that can maintain transferred midichlorians without it degrading, making her blood a perfect template/basis for palpatines clone body since he'd want to make sure his powers are sustained forever, seeing how he seeks immortality

While Omega might be Force sensitive (hopefully not), I don't think the Empire's M-count bounties are related to testing the clones' blood. If all they were doing is trying to find a basic midichlorian count in the clones, they wouldn't need to be mixing their blood with blood that has midichlorians, as that wouldn't tell them anything.

While I felt this episode was decent, my biggest frustration was that they didn't brought Quinlan into it. It was the perfect episode to have an actual Jedi to actually help, and finally bring him to the screen once more. Instead we were left with as many questions about him and Ventress as we had before and the episode progressed very little the story, except maybe forcing them to realize they can't stay on Pabu.

I have to disagree here. The point of Ventress only showing up shows how prominent her character is in the current status of the galaxy, and the fact that hope itself is pretty vague at this point. Her character allows the batch, from a different side of the war to realise even more how both sides were played, hence her saying it and being the representation of the former seperatist alliance. Its development from both sides, especially with Ventress whose character has developed immensely and still undergoes inner conflict. Theres alot of conflict in the characters here with the likes of Crosshair and other clones, but having jedis show up here and there just shadows the idea of how the galaxy has plummeted in to this turmoil of the Empire taking over (early stage), as the jedi would only signify hope. Its enough that we have Obi Wan, Cal Kestis and Ahsoka (though not a jedi still represents the jedi in some way) existing in the timeline with their own stories. Leave it be, Quinlan would be cool to see, but not in the Bad Batch.
