I wish my dad & his buddies had the money to run the higher classes. They would've ruined some people's days. They had over 220 wins w/a cast iron block 392 Hemi BB/GD. Somebody even stole their blower at Indy one year to keep them from competing. They built their cars from the ground up by themselves. Worked for a chassis shop in the off season to pay for new chassis when they needed one. Even built one of the Jade Grenade cars there. I still remember push starting the dragster in my dad's pickup. Miss those days.😟

I broke out with a 5.95 and went through the lights at 253mph… I did NOT have plenty of time to stop! 😂 I went into the sand about 100’ We still don’t know why the chutes broke off, but we have new ones coming!

@@anwkid Looked like a ride after you popped the chutes. I guess you know instantly there is no " pull" into the seatbelts,and a busy right hand trying to slowdown and avoid hopping and locking.

Sorry but this era of the march meet doesn't hold a candle to the original. All this stuff is toned down modern drag racing with a nostalgia theme that really isnt. Just look at that so called fuel altered..... This is not nostalgia drag racing of the 90's and early to mid 2000's.......this has become a deep pockets scenario again and one of the other comments echoed that....total B S. in my opinion but, my opinion is shared by others as well
