Thanks for going over Fire, I was interested in knowing more about it! I like what it does with the pattern! I definitely have Firefly on my future snake list and plan to be better prepared before the next reptile expo. The SuperFly I think gets too reduced, I don't like it as much, but I can see how it'd be a good breeder. I don't normally care a lot for Yellowbelly, so I was debating whether I was going to avoid that in the Firefly, since I have seen some with YB. It's also interesting how many ways you can make a white snake. I know some people are looking for a pure white, though I think the yellow on it looks neat.

I just bought a fire/ pastel from the expo on Sat and it has kind of a light white head stamp. The breeder said PH clown, could you do a video going into more detail about what PH means and maybe how to tell. If you already have can you post the link please. Hey Chris. Thank you for your videos. Really inspired me to get a BP. I got a pinstripe baby today, considering how hard it is to get snakes here in UAE. In fact she chose me as she was all over me, just like Bobby, very curious. She took her live feed at the shop but still she didn’t ball up in her hide to digest. Crawled on me as soon as her box was opened. Is that normal?

Congrats on the Pinstripe! I'd actually avoid handling them right after eating, probably for about 48 hours because they can regurgitate the rodent.

Thank you Chris.. and yes that's what I've learnt from your videos, but it was in the shop and the attendant had already fed her beforehand. There were other 2 normals who were also fed and had balled up, pinstripe was active and crawled up my hand and neck.

I was looking at the Fire gene as well. Lots of variety out there. Actually pretty cool for you to get second chance at one of the snakes you produced. I had sellers remorse years ago on many a reptile that I had wished I had held back. Hope you get her feeding well.

I have sellers remorse on almost all of them LOL. Can't keep them all though, I'd end up with a whole warehouse full of snakes LOL. I'm looking at clown males at the moment, the one I want is $3,500 OUCH! It's a Leopard Enchi Banana Clown, I could cross it with my Lesser Clown female and get some crazy stuff, probably would make my money back in the first year, but man that's a lot of cash to shell out. i wanted to ask about the fire morph, where does it come from? and i heard that if you breed to fireballs together it'll give you a super fire? I just wanted to know how that works if someone could explain it it would help a lot! Great video btw!

Yes, if you breed two fires together you get a super fire which is a white snake with black eyes. Not sure where most of these morphs come from, I don't really study the history, mainly the appearance of the combos, pretty much targeting the potential breeding aspect of it.

I see Sizes like baby juvenile young adult then sometimes I see a snake listed in grams like 100-500 grams then sometimes by age.....confusing to a new snake owner I want a young snake but not a tiny baby either any suggestions or have u done a video on this topic already? For a new snake owner I'd avoid really small ball pythons, anything over about 300 grams should be fine.

Juvenile - 80-150 grams Young adult 150- 1000 grams Adult 1000+ grams That's about what I would say is the name and the weights are. I argee with chris 300 to 500 would be a great first snake size.

You could get something else with Fire in it and go for the super fire.

Nice video Chris, Fire is 1 of my favorite incomplete dominant genes. I have 2 different lines of Fire in my collection, I have a Fire 66% Het Clown female from Justin K. & a Fire Het Clown female from Mike W. and 1 is lighter than the other. I also have a Super Fire Coral Glow male. Fires actually get lighter/brighter as they age they Don't dull out as they get bigger like some genes (Pastel for example). And Some single gene Fires & Fire combos can actually have ringers, it's pretty common with the Fire gene.

Good info. I love genetics but reptile genetics are so crazy compared to mammals. How many confirmed colors do you know of? I’ve seen yellow, orange, lavender, black, brown, red and white. Are there green or blue ?morphs?

There are over 300 base morphs, not really any blue or green in ball pythons. Maybe a really faded out blue or green.
