Thank you for a more clear and easy to understand video. I recently started working with reptiles and I know nothing about BP genetics, I’ll be rewatching this daily to help out. A lot of other videos the speaker just rambles and talks as if the listener knows what they are saying, you on the other hand keep explaining it so thank you!

Great explanations! Very clear. I'll be bookmarking this for future reference. I'm just getting started, but excited for the future. I have a Pied Het Albino male, and picked up a Pastel Enchi Leopard 100% Het Clown 66% Het Pied female, and also a Banana Champagne Mojave possible Het Red Axanthic and 66% Het Pied female. Regretting getting 66%'s a bit, but at least the babies will all be 100% Het Pied at least. I'll see if they prove out to be Pied, and am looking to get a Visual Clown Spotnose male down the road. Great content!

Thanks Scott! Hopefully yours prove out. You'll have some amazing pieds if they do!

Congrats on the success of the channel man. This video helped me. Alot. I'm just getting started. I have some male juveniles but I also have a 900 gram chocolate mojave. My question is do I still have time to acquire a breeder female to pair with my mojave this season so I can get my feet wet and try my hand at breeding. If so what would be my best bang for my buck of a female to look to buy to try and breed to my mojave this season. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Rocky, I'm glad the video helped! I don't think you're too late. People really breed year round now. With a chocolate mojave male you could go 2 different ways IMO. 1. Try another BEL gene and hit some blue eyed Lucy's. Mojave, lesser, butter, mystic, etc... 2. Try another dark gene. Black pastel, cinny, blackhead, mahogany

@@SNKELTD yes that's what I was thinking. I was looking for an adult female lesser for sale but keep missing good deals. I was offered a 3000 gram female Pewter that didnt breed this year for 600 but wasnt sure if that was a good deal or not. If you have time let me know your thoughts of that option. Thank you so much for replying.
@SNKELTD4 жыл бұрын
I would say that's a fair price. Maybe not the best deal you'll find, but I don't think you're overpaying. A 3000g 2-gene proven female should lay a nice size clutch. Check morphmarket for sold adult females with the same genes to know where you stand

so I have a baby female GHI Lesser Ghost. What should I put her too in a few years? I have 36 animals that in a few years I will be breeding and I would like to know your opinions about the future pairings and what I should be looking to buy based on what I have already. I have never had a clutch and I don't really know what does what. I have looked at morphmarket and world of ball pythons. However the odds are very confusing.
@SNKELTD4 жыл бұрын
With 36 animals, it's kind of too vague to give you a straight answer. What you really need to do is breakdown the females into groups of 3, and decide on a male that works best with them. If you breed mojave, lesser, butter, and other BEL genes to this girl then you have odds of hitting a bel

I love talking about genes and morphs! It just confuses me so much going from ball pythons to talking about retics mid conversation. They talk like geneticists and say het for 1 gene (which i understand is scientifically correct) but does get complicated with those recessives in ball pythons lol
@jasonmason6909 Жыл бұрын
I am new to the ball python community!! Just bought a DH albino pied male…. If I was to breed him , to make sure I get a visual pied I should buy a visual pied, correct?
@SNKELTD Жыл бұрын
You can't "guarantee" a visual pied because being a het, on average he only passes on the pied gene to 50% of his offspring. But yes, your best bet would be to breed him to a female visual pied. 1/2 the babies should be pied
