I saw someone use a large sponge and put fly spray on that and then rub it over her horse because he was afraid of the spray. The sponge could absorb more spray. Just a thought Jami. Love you so much❤

Morning Jami - Ima and Beverly looked so much better after your loving on them. No doubt they will feel the difference as far as dealing with the heat and humidity goes. Can’t help myself but to just adore Dan. He is such a true ‘gentle’man in every sense of the word. That you made sure to show and mention the thoughtful follower who sent you that new brush, wasn’t lost on me - I believe it has to make that special someone, who see’s their kindness of an opened gift, shown being put to good use by you, make their heart smile. Good morning Jamii someone told me that she uses one of those dish soap refill wands with the sponge on the end she puts fly contol in it and brushes it on her horses instead of spraying it on them and thought Id share this ideal with you and maybe you can try it on the donkeys

Maybe for Dan to protect him from the weather, You and Lester could build a cover about 12' X 12' onto whichever side of the WPS that would provide the most wind protection. That way he's not in a structure but protected from the elements. Just a thought. ❤

I bought that type of brushing tool for my long hair cat ( like Hank). Omg he loves it. I didn’t realize how much under coat he has. I’ve had him 10 yrs. I thought the regular brush was doing fine. I also get him shaved once a year to help with the Cotten candy tumble weeds!

Jami, thanks for showing us all the goings on from before the last storm and after the major flooding. And thank you very much for putting the moving of our babies due to weather, updates, and those videos before what was scheduled. That really helped put my mind and heart at ease. We have our farm professionally sprayed for mosquitoes. It helps a lot. They come out once a month to spray. We have several ponds on our property that attracts mosquitoes.

Beverly is a handful, in a cute way. Dixie taught her so much, but she'll always be a little girl wanting all attention on her. Dan is such a sweet and loving boy, especially with the babies. It's very satisfying to get so much hair out of the donkey's when they're brushed. Theres no such thing as enough right Bevy? You made them feel so good. Nothing like those metal teeth to get that winter coat moving. It took out mats as well. One of my favourite tools. Don't feel so bad. You had your hands full. Even tho you knew having extra animals was short term it makes you do a shuffle just to get them all fed and watered.

Sometimes u got to help animals get past their problems. Lead Dan into barns and other shelters and show him no harm will come to him. I've seen him in barns over at iss, so I know he would enjoy it. Plus, it's so heartbreaking to see him standing in the storm alone.

Glad you had a small break in the rain Jami. You guys are so wonderful with all your rescue animals. I hope you can figure out a way to keep the flooding from the pond from reaching the farms as bad. I hate that the animals were so miserable and the homes so damaged. When my uncle was alive he had a horse ranch, and he had race horses. I got to help with the farm and tending the horses. It was an awful lot of work with the two cows and ten horses. But fun too for me. I can easy see how you could get overwhelmed. There is nothing to be embarrassed about because we know how well you treat all your fur babies. Big hugs from your pal in Oklahoma.

I can imagine how it was overwhelming to have all of the extra animals at LHL, but you 2 just took it in stride & cared for them all. What a blessing you were to the family to take the animals. It's stressful when you have a crisis & such a relief whe you know your babies are in good hands & you have one less worry. The donkeys sure love to be brushed & getting mama time. Good morning Jami, even watching you guys with that many animals looked overwhelming! In saying that, so glad you guys have LHL’s to have been able to take them all though. You guys have always put the animals first, that included not taking on too many animals over the years to give the ones you have their best life. It’s a fine balance and you and Lester I believe have perfected that. I have to say I always loved all types of animals including donkeys but after watching your channels over the past four years the donkeys have my heart. Beverly has been backing up the bus from almost birth!🤣 Ima and Dan both have the sweet and calm spirit. Dan is the most gentle and patient, especially with the baby goats. Have a nice day.

Isn't the curry comb the best? I used it on all kinds of mini horses, sheep & goats yesterday and they (well most of them) love it. It's so beautiful seeing the little donkey family together again. I'm sure Beverly's giving her parents a run for their money though!
