The only reason i Stayed away from saddle hunting is because i ain't carrying a bunch of sticks. This is very cool. And a very good ideal. How good does it work with alot of limbs

If anything it is absolutely a viable piece of kit for a backup system that you can have with you to get out of the tree if you did drop your climber platform or sticks etc. I want one

simple and light, always the best. One thing I would add to it though is a string attaching it to you because if it slips all the way down the tree while you're up high, you're screwed!

Point of fact; title is incorrect two tether climbing with stirrups and amsteel rope is the lightest method. By far. A variety of one stick options are also kighter. If you are also carrying a platform, because this is not a true platform replacement option, then this sytem is also not lighter than a LW hand climber top or either of the climbing platform options on the market. Stirrups allow independent leg movement, each on a separate axis when using the system as a platform and can be used on one foot allowing you to leg lock the tree while adjusting your tether. You can make this yourself out of a 2x4 which Scott Adkins demo'd several years ago and be lighter as well. I've done that, played with the concept, and stirrups are head and shoulders a better option. My current 2TC setup is from CGM.

Hard pass. Girth hitching a tree? There are much better options and easier to deal with branches. No path to ground as shown here, so pray you don't lose the foot bar. Better to carry 30' of rope. I'd ditch every standard prusik knot found....if at all possible.

Not sure how even to reply to this haha 😂 Do you say the same thing about all other climbers? We have plenty of videos on our website where we are climbing trees!
@ADirtyRunner5 ай бұрын
@@raccoonrigs I'm not saying I completely agree with him, but I'm on the fence about ordering due to this. I don't have the luxury of having nice, straight, limbless trees where I hunt here in the swamp. I really like the concept here but it's hard to see how this could replace my climbing sticks (which I would really love to). If there are some ways you can workaround limbs using this system, I'd love to see them. Perhaps using multiple tethers? Carry a single stick with you to help transition over a limb/rough patch on a tree? A video of that would be great.
@ADirtyRunner5 ай бұрын
Also is the intention to not use a saddle platform here? I think I'd still use one.
@raccoonrigs5 ай бұрын
@@ADirtyRunner Some people do, some people don't! I personally use it as my platform for rifle season. But for bow season I bring up a separate platform to stand on. Other people at our company always bring a platform up with them!
@ryansullivan94135 ай бұрын
@@ADirtyRunner you would treat it like one sticking, so you hang in your saddle, use your feet to steady yourself against the tree and move the tether of this thing around the limb to continue. That being said I think there is a need for products in this category just disagree with the approach of this method. That sandpaper is going to wear down and it is much easier to slip off a round bar with a prusik while moving your tether up than something like a stick
