Great concert! The Bangles performed 12 out of 13 songs from their album "Everything" which is my favorite record that they released.

You are right! They are (were) a fantastic live band. This is best heard at the Pittsburgh concert. To me, the only criteria for a good band always only was...sound on stage better than on record. More i don't need to know. And they are what i call...a real good band

My favorite Bangles song. Vikki is a master lyricist, way far better than she gets credit for. I got hooked on the band when I heard her sing the chorus to All About You. Love all their voices, it's always been about the Peterson sisters for me. They're all super talented. Their harmonies are right up there with the Beatles. Michael is a superb bass player fantastic, excellent singer and songwriter. Suzanne was a perfect match for the girls because she brings a different vocal quality and the three of them end up bigger than the individuals. I can listen to Debbie or Vicky sing all day long and never get tired of it. Also on Crash and Burn what she does with her voice along with the inventive lyrics, the attitude she has when she says "nothing can touch me", it's like her voice is speeding up just like her car. I've never read anything about it I always felt she was writing about her sadness of the band falling apart and just her need to get away from it. You get the feeling it hurts her a lot. Glad they worked it out a decade later.

certainly the most billboard hits of any all female group. They even blew the Go Go's out of the water in that category.

Girlschool. Not a lot of hits but a great live band. With Motörhead, released the only 10" single I have, St Valentines Day Massacre.

The band's managers had this agenda of wanting to set up Sue as a solo artist. Unfortunately, Michael had recently had a nervous breakdown and wanted off the carousel, called Susanna saying, "I can't do this anymore", and mgmt pounced and dissolved the band. The girls found out in a business meeting, I'm guessing, days after this show.

I've been loving the song too and this version is stellar, I would love to see Vicki's stage performance and how she rocked her guitar that nite. But the 86 Pittsburg gives you a taste of her. #11 Something to Believe was Michael doing a great song too.

Sue's got so much energy and spunk, especially in In Your Room, Hero Takes A Fall, and Walking Down Your Street. Her voice is top-notch as always. and so sexy! this is where she starts to get her grit and rasp. it's just to die for!

The bangles had 4-5 very successful years in the 80s. is the great pittsburgh '86 gig really the only concert before 2000, that was filmed in good quality ??? that would be really a pity!😞 They were a fantastic live band!
@Taz90

They had 6crazy, hectic but very successful years from '83 - '89. They released their first album 'All Over the Place', in '83 to moderate success. Then they exploded onto the scene in '86 when 'Different Light' was released. They also had another hit with their version of 'Hazy Shade of Winter'. Which was on the Less Than Zero soundtrack. And then there was their last album 'Everything' released in late '88. They were on their tour when they disbanded in '89.

@@svengarber7962 I guess you're not crazy about the "Everything" era, then, since they cowrote each song with outside writers. (You have a right not to like that album, of course !).

Wrong!!! It is Vicki, no keys or Sue. She mostly plays a very clean sound which is why you can hear every note she plays on her fingers. Watching The Sky is their nod to Zeppelin and Sabbath. It's the one song she puts all the old 70's rock pedals on her guitar. So she sounds like that. She's amazing.

The Bangles sold records because of the pop sound and great front person selling their sound. This mix is way to heave with the drum sound. They would have sold less records and been less successful with the heavy drum sound in the mix and the lead vocals; of Suzanna Hoffs buried.
