My Brother helped me, in mostly copying his crazy Science-Build. The T6 SteeringWheel Somerville gives the Anomalies a Damage-Boost, and with all Builds, having one Shield-Remodulator that gives your Ship an extra Proton-Damagr on Exotic Damage and Shield-Drain, this can get to be quite an destructive little Ship. He started with the C-Store Ship of the Delta-Crew that went evil, and switched to the stronger Vulcan-Scout-Eventship. Basically our Shops became Space-Erasers. And to make sure, you don't get blown up with warp-Core-Breaches, get the digitizer-ship-ability.

You dont need temporal ship for good exotic dps. Sure temporal ships max out potential but you can do it with any ship as long you have enough aoe skills and good cooldown bonus. Drain is total bs even at 400+ drain. Beam build i use with carriers for extra pet damage and its fun to play just dont expect crazy dps like with exotic build.

Brand new to the game. This wasnt "dumbed down" enough for me. I understand I want an EPG? build.... But need more of a walkthrough. IE what exactly is a "Science Build" Which Consoles should I be focusing on. What should I do for "Skills, Traits, Stations" What if I dont have the 33,000,000 + for the Epic Torpedo's. ie..... any video on absolute NOOB Science Builds how to get started?

Because I am an overtired idiot, I forgot to talk about ideal numbers to get your EPG and Control skill to (some of you in the comments have already noticed this). And then I got kinda forgot what they were, which is a tad embarrassing. But anyway... For damage focused EPG builds you probably want to aim for at least 350 in your Exotic Particle Generator skill. This skill will determine the strength of your exotic damage, so the higher it is, the better. For a Control build you want to try to get your Control skill to about 400, that will maximize the pull range of your Gravity Well, any higher will just increase the strength of the negative repel rating (how strong the pull is).

Vanguard carrier kinda works too, only 2 aft but Intel seating on it, and enough sci seating to hold GW III

@@ReyOfLight but no secondary deflector, which is kinda the whole problem with carriers: science focused seating, but no secondary deflector to back them up. It's doable, but your damage output will take a hit without one.

@@Stu1701 Very true. It’s not optimal but does work if playing very casually. I wouldn’t put my main toon on the Vanguard carrier now though when that toon is doing DPS (or trying to at least) lol

@@Stu1701 I believe the Trailblazer is a 4/3 layout as well and has a sec def. ( I know, only way to get it is through the bundle, on console anyways). Didn't see it mentioned in the comments. As a BO/FAW player im just now getting knto Sci builds. Great video. Thanks! I have many sci ships to choose from starting with the Verne lol.

How does the Eternal science ship rate for overall doability? Can I get close to 350 EPG and 400 Control? Should I shoot for 100+ AUX? Thanks, Stu! Very helpful vid (and comments for this SCI noob)!

The Eternal is a really good sci ship, definitely one of the better options from the cstore. with the right gear and traits you should be able to get EPG and Control that high. Yes, you should be running with Aux maxed out. For sci builds, I usually have Aux maxed, everything else in engines, and weapons and shields at minimum. Unless I'm running a DEW-Sci build, then I put that engine power into weapons.

@@alanclark7807 the extra console slot is the only thing that MW ships have going for science builds. MW bridge officer abilities don't do much for such builds, sadly.

Stu I have a question I know this video is old but I just started playing 2 days ago and I am trying to build a science build and I use my free vessel token on a ship but come to find out when I join the star fleet I could have a science vessel can I still get it or is it to late I am playing on ps4 if anyone can answer my question I appreciate it lol

Are you referring to the free ship tokens you get while leveling up? because those only let you get lower tier ships, depending on what level you hit.

Unlike energy weapons, EPG abilities does not consume Aux power. You dont need pump your aux power over the cap, because it stays at same level and you wont get any benefit from it. You can go with max power to weapons and still max out Aux power aswell. Just, you wont get that much from your energy weapons, because Tac seating on Sci ships is usually very limited and its often trade between sci and tac. Thats why i think subsystem targeting needs change towards damage above its leech ability, but thats different story. Ofc, your main source of damage will be EPG. Energy weapons arent going to do big numbers, it moreless filler between your sci abilities cooldowns(best secondary spec is Constable).

Subsystem targeting needs to be a buff that applies to all damage you deal instead of a firing mode, amplified by using sensor analysis. Maybe also make it a toggle like cruiser commands. Then people might actually use it.

Stu.....I am trying to set up my level 65 Science toon with regards to traits. The ship that I am using (if this is dorked up please let me know as I can definitely make adjustments) is a Paradox Dreadnought. Why.....well it is a dreadnought.....and we are off lol! This is probably a noob question but I am trying to follow your suggestions but this is an area that is less clear to me. TIA

Could be interesting. Though your character species and career aren't going to make that much of a difference in the end. It's more about your build.

So, would you bother with any Temporal Boff abilities, or is it just picked for all the passive stuff in the skill tree? I've got a Crossfield science spearhead that I'm trying to build up as an EPG/Torp boat, but it only has Lt temporal seating. I'm not seeing a whole lot in the first two skill slots for Temporal that looks like it would be must-have, but I'm fairly new to the game. I also have another T6 lockbox pick sitting in bank waiting for me to figure out what to do with it (I got disgustingly lucky with my very first 10-pack of keys and pulled two T6 ship tokens! The first turned into the Crossfield.) I was thinking about Getting a full on temporal ship like the Verne (I'd probably get the Romulan one for space barbie reasons), but I'm not sure it is really necessary.

i personally love temporal abilities. you can get some light control effects and constant exotic dmg. the verne is super fun and for me was my main chase in the game.

FINALLY. Someone that gets and can explain a DEWSci build. AND ACTUALLY GETS IT RIGHT! One thing I would note however, is MW is also pretty decent for DEWSci, I have found. I tend to favor MAS or NSB. Vulcan Experimental Scout Ship (what I lovingly refer to as Auggies Bane) is decent for this. No OSS, and my energy weapons sitting at ~80 - 90 power aren't hitting as hard as a tac EW build, but they aren't slouched either. *Hats off*

Yes, but it will be significant hard to be top tier dps, still expect to kill anything as fast as others but you won't be top of leaderboard

Yes, I myself fly a DEW epg/ctrlx build, more ctrlx focused I m a person who see a gravity well pulling 4 to 6 ships and then drop my gravity well and then you see 16 to 20 ships from all sides getting pulled towards the gravity well
