I’m on row 76 and I’ve checked and I still have 152 stitches however when I complete row 76, I work the twelve stitches at the beginning and am careful that I’m not doubling up the stitches as I go through but I can’t get this to work. When I complete the last set of 18hdc’s I end up with 8 stitches left to the end of the row!!! I’ve restarted it 5 times now. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks.

Ok, quick question... On the foundation row to set up this middle panel you say to do 12 hdc stitches on each end (24), then you have 6 sections of 18hdc (108) between the 7 sets of 3fpdc (21) so when I add those up I'm getting 153 total stitches across... So I guess my question is, where do I lose a stitch to keep my accurate stitch count of 152? I am just in awe by your work and absolutely love learning all your fun stitches! I cannot imagine the amount of time that goes into trying to work out all of math to try to make these work! You are brilliant! Thanks Bonnie! God bless

It's been a while since I recorded this one, but it could be the ch-2 in the st count, but I'm not totally sure of this unless I study the way Red Heart edited my pattern. Honestly, if you are only one stitch off (which sounds like you are not) yet your work looks spot on, I wouldn't worry about it. It is very easy to make this up for future rows should you have the need. It's not worth ripping out, I promise! Hope this is helpful. Blessings...

Ive worked row 76 (1st row of the diamond basketweave motif) 3 times. All 3 times I ended with only 11 stitches left. I reworked the row for the 4th time and skipped that first hdc as the written pattern states to start and end with 11 stitches..counting that starting ch2 kept the stitch count consistent at 152....Not sure how you started and ended with 12 stitches on that row.

Hi Bonnie thanks for all the beautiful patterns you provide to us. I was wondering if the are written corrections are available for this pattern for those of us that don't need a tutorial when working the pattern. I looked on the red heart website but none of the corrections that you are mentioning in the video appear on the pattern correction listed on the website. Thank you again I've learned so much from you. 😊

On rows 82 & 83 we are suppose to repeat rows 78&79 but on rows 82&83 you started both post stitches with a back post and row 78 starts with front post, please clarify this for me
@BonnieBayCrochet
@BonnieBayCrochet 6 жыл бұрын
Both rows should be worked as the video demonstrates. Here is the proper wording for these rows (both rows are actually the same): Row 82: Ch 2, hdc in the first 9 sts, [bpdc in next 3 sts, fpdc in next 3 sts, bpdc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 12 sts] across, hdc in last 9 sts, turn. Row 83: Ch 2, hdc in the first 9 sts, [bpdc in next 3 sts, fpdc in next 3 sts, bpdc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 12 sts] across, hdc in last 9 sts, turn.

With the two extra rows you inserted (new rows 84 and 85), it seems the diamond is not symmetrical. There are now 6 rows (74-79) leading up to the widest point of the diamond (80-81), then 8 rows after (82-89). Is this correct?
@BonnieBayCrochet
@BonnieBayCrochet 5 жыл бұрын
I think you'll find that the diamond is symmetrical. I would follow the videos as primary because the written pattern has some issues which the videos correct.

I made the mistake of trying to follow the written pattern, which is completely different from your video. I know someone asked about the discrepancies and about an update to the written pattern, but apparently that was not done. I just downloaded the written pattern last month and it says it was updated in August of 2019, but it is still VERY different and comes out VERY wrong. I had to frog several times before I realized the video is so different and that's what I should have been following. I gave up trying to make the diamond shape because I didnt feel like frogging everything again. Please either change the written pattern to match the video or get rid of the written pattern because it doesnt work, is confusing, and frustrating.

I'm sorry you are having issues with this Sheila. Believe me, these issues have caused me years of headaches too. Once a designer like myself sells a design to a company, they no longer own or have control over the editing, especially in this case where the company has been bought by another yarn company. I produced these videos - and clearly stated this issue at the beginning - in order to try to help clear up any issues. This is one big reason why I self-publish my work now - to maintain as much quality control as possible.

I appreciate your response. I dont always look for videos when doing a project. I usually search for them if I'm struggling with a particular stitch or section, which is why I wasnt aware of the issue regarding the written pattern until after I saw your video. The written pattern was through Red Heart on the Yarnspirations website, but its not linked to your video, so whoever tries this pattern isnt going to know about the corrections unless they see the video. Is there any way to fix that? Should I contact the website I got the pattern from? It's a lovely pattern and it would be a shame to leave the whole center section written incorrectly.

@@sheilabrady9820 I have found it challenging to work with these big companies to be honest. Red Heart Yarns was very much aware of these videos (they provided yarn support) and have been sent the links many years ago. Feel free to let your source of the pattern know about these videos. I would really appreciate that.

Yes, feel free to add an extra stitch if you need to. No one will ever know, plus a perilous is worked at the end that helps to even out throw ends.

For the basket weave section to come out properly you need 153 stitches across on the row. And once you complete the basket weave row you will need to combine one of your stitches in the middle to make the count go back down to 152. If you add all the stitches you need to go across the total is 153. Just thought i would tell you

Are you including the turning chain as a stitch? Most of the time I do not include this as a regular stitch.

@@BonnieBayCrochet Hi Bonnie, I just started this throw and have the same problem . the final count of sticehes is 152 with 11hdc and not counting the 2 turning chain. I think it will be ok if I just add another hdc on top of the turning ch that will make the count 153.
