The musicians on "Silk Degrees" included David Paich (various keyboards & arrangements), Jeff Porcaro (drums/percussion), and David Hungate (bass) who, shortly thereafter, became members of Toto, while Fred Tackett (guitar) became a member of Little Feat. Also, when you reviewed "Lowdown" you used a live version performed in a jazz club years after 1977 -- so it was not the sound of the original record which is GREAT.

I first ran across Boz as the bass player on the Steve Miller Band's first two albums. His album Slow Dancer is very soulful and stunning. This album, Silk Degrees was phenomenal. I'd suggest going back to the album version of Lowdown (the video was good; the original album cut was a chart topper). What Can I Say and Harbor Lights are must hears from this album. But the title cut, Slow Dancer, You Make It Hard (To Say No) and Angel Lady from Slow Dancer are also must hears. Boz is still recording and his A Fool To Care album from 2015 is also very very good. As always, great reaction y'all!

Didn't know that Boz wrote this. Rita Coolidge recorded it, and I thought she wrote it, as she is a great songwriter.

If they liked Lido, they'll definitely enjoy "Georgia". And I agree that "We're All Alone", a personal favorite, is slow dance magic.

As I recall, the studio musicians that played on Silk Degrees were terrific: the Porcaros, including the great late drummer Jeff Porcaro, who formed Toto; Donald "Duck" Dunn, great bassist formerly of Booker T and the MGs. Can't miss backup.

I was a big Boz Skaggs fan in the late 1970’s. A couple of years ago he and the guys performed here in Midland, TX. I finally got to see a live performance.

In 1988 Boz and partners opened the music bar Slim's in San Francisco. His nickname was Slim. I could not count the number of great shows I saw there. In the end, it closed in 2020.

On the very first Boz Scaggs album he does a song called "Loan Me a Dime". The guitarist on that song is Duane Allman. Some people have called the solo that Duane does in it as maybe the best guitar solo ever. Check it out!

I was 3, maybe 4 years old when this song came out. My oldest sis is 15 years my senior (to say I was a surprise is an understatement) and she had this little two-seater convertible car. Even at that young age, I idolized my cool, hippie sister, and this song will always make me think of pre-school me shooting a peace sign standing in front of that little car of hers. She floated the same river in the 70s and 80s! Definitely pulled out the nostalgia for me with this one. Love watching you guys!

Amber and Jay, you all took me back to my college days with this Boz Skaggs tune - 46 years ago! Silk Degrees was played loud and hard in my freshman dorm! (Shout out to Darryl and Jess at Toyon Hall who introduced me to this artist!) I saw Boz in concert a few years ago and he still sounds wonderful. Keep exploring his catalog.
