What I find fascinating is how many trailers and tv spots they are giving us that feel new but use mostly the same footage with a new line or two thrown in. With all the clips there’s still so much we don’t know. Genius really. 👍🏼

I think what they mean by it may be somewhat divisive is the fact that tho it's a Batman movie and looks great, overall the fact that this story isn't told as a traditional superhero movie it's told, like Pattinson has said, much like a Batman graphic novel which don't always have that classic "Superhero wins, saves the day and all is well!' but is so introspective casual audience's might not be into it and it may not yet fit the casual viewers idea of Batman. That's just my guess in what the controversial decisions might be

@@barry2349 no. Pattinson as well as others who have claimed to view the test screenings have said that there were things and decisions made in this movie that may be controversial or divisive. Me, not having seen the film, made a guess as to what I think could've been the reasoning behind the decision's being viewed as controversial is all. I'm assuming that despite the things we've seen that would seem like everyone loves this batman, if there are things that are not yet known to us that would MAYBE be controversial I assume that those issues will be because of what is assumed of the casual movie goer and not that there will be controversy with the casual movie goer. For instance, most people know Thomas and Martha Wayne as saints who were innocently killed. Maybe in this movie one or both of them were pretty terrible people that deserved it or whatever. That may be something that your casual Batman fan might not like because of a preconceived idea as to who those two people are. Maybe the rumors are true that Riddler is Batman's half brother. Your average Batman fan/movie goer who knows that's not been a thing may not like that if it were true. That's my whole guess as to why there may be "controversy" and not me saying there will be. I don't know. I'm guessing

As an actor and likely a huge fan, Pattison certainly understands just how iconic and prestigious playing the role of Batman is and is primed to deliver a great performance. As I've gotten older and after the Dark Knight's epic trilogy, more and more I've become disinterested in superhero movies all the way around just because they feel the need to make one about every single character and their sidekicks, multiple times over. But Batman though? He was my favorite since I was a kid and to this day think his is the most interesting and polarizing character of them all. I'm glad he's back and I'm sure Robert Pattison will do a great job in continuing that legacy. Can't wait to see it!

@@natechenry I suggest reading the others before the 1940 series. Read those shorter ones before the 2011 and 2016 series also. Catwoman appears in Batman Long Halloween and Year 1.. As well as the 1940, 2011 and 2016 series. Don't overwhelm yourself, so read the shorter ones before those.

@@natechenry No problem. Just so you know the movie took inspiration from Long Halloween, Year 1 and Ego. Also the animated 90s series and Batman Phantasm animated movie. Definitely looks like they took inspiration from Arkham games too, but Matt Reeves probably doesn't want to admit he took inspiration from the Arkham Series.
