It's fun to fantasize about it. But the truth is, almost any spacefaring race is going to be hundreds if not thousands of years ahead of us in technological ability. So our few flimsy space crafts (space station and a few hundred satellites), our warships, fighter jets, and missiles, should be about as useful as natives on canoes rowing out to meet a nuclear carrier. It wouldn't be a war. It would just be a matter of why the aliens are coming. If they want to exterminate us and take the planet, there's nothing we can do. All these TV shows and movies showing us fighting the aliens are silly. It wouldn't be our soldiers against theirs or our aircraft against theirs. Again, imagine us invading some aboriginal tribe. They bring blowguns, bows and arrows, and come out to meet us on a few dozen canoes. We don't even need our naval ships and fighter jets. A few powerboats with miniguns and 50 cal cannons will easily take the poor natives out. We can't even imagine how the aliens would kill us, but there wouldn't be any meaningful fighting at all.

I remember reading a book series where the aliens, who are parasitic slugs that take over the bodies of other species, flat out state that a direct invasion of Earth would be doomed to fail because we humans have such an ingrained prowess for warfare that we could overcome their technological weaponry advantage.

One of them (in an alien body) is stating that they should stop the secret invasion and just conquer Earth directly since they have advanced starships and disintegrating ray weapons; the other general (that has a human host body and had lived on Earth for a while) states that the reptilian species that they use as shock troops for direct invasions could only be amassed in a force no greater than 100,000 troops. As such, if every human on Earth were to fire just one time from a gun, and miss 99% of the time, they're ground forces would be slaughtered. That's why they opted for a stealth invasion of Earth, even though they acknowledge that it would take years to infest our entire population.

Nuclear Warfare poses a huge issue for any species which engages us in direct combat, as the US, Russia, and others are fully prepared to bring out everything in their arsenal to avoid losing. imagine 10000 nuclear warheads heading in your direction, any species would probably want to avoid that; so theyd either retreat and come up with a better strategy, or blow up the earth with everything they have after seeing our weapons

I was expecting the superhumans, robotics, dr. who etc. would join in on the fight, yet I'm so glad none of them appeared. There were scenes from Transformers, yet even the friendly robots weren't there. It was humanity vs aliens as it is. Good montage. I saw drones, yet I'm not sure whose side they were on :)

I love the idea that all these different alien species with technology somehow appearing together resembles alliances like the Coalition or the Allie powers, Different nations joining together and invading as one force. Here the aliens races invade together to split the benefits.

this Fcking Funny video! FUN FACT: unknown galactic intelligent species can just havoc our oxygen on the atmosphere and viola!, all species deprived with oxygen is d3ad.. if there are military intervention well, they can just destroy all our communication satellites and fire massive electromagnetic blast to shutdown all working technology, set aside they can also manipulate our gravity by simply using their electromagnetic thingy as well to the planet's core..
