The commitment that each of you have, to preserve such precious history, is really wonderful. Well done. 🇦🇺

Less than a mile from my house. And to the point of preserving the land of this battle. Currently the new Cobb County commissioner is actively working to develop large portions of this area.

Wow I grew up in Marietta Georgia and never knew about that particular battle. Although I have been to other Battlefield sites in that area. I also used to have a lot of friends in Kennesaw Georgia.

Members of the Alabama 31st from Chelsea Alabama were a part of this Confederate line. They were captured by Union soldiers on June 15, 1864, the day after Polk was killed, and taken to Rock Island Prison Camp in Illinois. We have a video about it on our KZbin channel.

@ 3:09 can someone provide some more detail as to what exactly are diverging and dilluting (spelling?) fire?

if your line of men are trying to keep high ground on a hill, every enemy at the bottom of the hill will be aiming up at one specific spot (Converging Fire) If your men are at the bottom of the hill it’s easy to move positions, so the enemy on the top of the hill will have to shoot in many directions (Diverging Fire)

Just a respectful production suggestion: minimize gestures, no bouncing up and down, rarely use arm waving. Distracting.

At Gilgal Church, the Divisions of Geary and Butterfield lost about 700 men (maybe closer to 650) between the two of them.

Not too far from the recreated earthworks are a set of depressions in the ground. These are the former graves of Union soldiers that were removed after the war.

Gilgal doesn't mean skull in Hebrew, it means rolled. Galgal means wheel.
