I love how Frieren has taught fern to use the exact amount of magic she needs when fighting. her fighting style is so efficient and calculated. There are no flashy, fancy looking spells at all, just Zoltraak and smart positioning.

She also used multiple projectiles again and again to teach her situational awareness and how to cover your blind spots and angles. In retrospect she was trained like a war mage, something that's almost unheard of in the wake of the defeat of the demon king. Not to impress, but to kill quickly and safely and then move on with enough mana to do it again as often as it takes.

Cool detail: Lügner's plan for beating Fern was to wait for Linie to kill Stark and then use the moment Fern was shocked to kill her. Except his plan backfired when Linie was killed, causing him to drop his guard for a second, allowing Fern to deliver the killing blow.

Fern is blasting the spells faster thanks to a) being extremely talented, b) due to having Frieren as a teacher and c) because she was in a hurry to blast a hole in the rock to repay Heiter's kidness.

Imagine how Stark really underestimates himself. People like Eisen, one of the hero party members who managed to defeat the Demon King said he was afraid of Stark to the point of shaking (Episode 5). Imagine how strong Stark is.

A lot of people forget Fern was stabbed int eh shoulder so can only use one arm to wield her staff. She literally beat Lugner one-handed.

Stark scared Eisen, soloed a dragon in 30 seconds and one shot Linie when he stopped being afraid. He doesn't realize his own strength😭

Linie played herself by using Eisen's fighting style, as it is clearly tailored around having overwhelming physical strenght, that Linie is lacking, she should've copied a fighter that used a more agility based combat style

Apply d&d/Rpg logic to the characters, Stark is a warrior/vanguard aka a tank, hes not a hero/speed type aka dps, he can take a lot of damage and dish out a lot of damage, hes also low on confidence and lacks belief in himself right now
