To me, if there aren't beans in the chili, it ain't chili. lol! When I make chili, I start with 5# of ground meat, usually beef. There will usually be 2 of the #10 cans of chili beans in it and a bunch of other things. I use a 20 quart stockpot for mixing it up. When it's done, I'll eat it for a couple days and put the rest in containers. Some go in my fridge in the truck, the rest go in the freezer to pick up later. I love chili in the winter. The way I make it, it will help keep you warm. (Yeah, fairly spicy) Your recipe looked pretty good, I might have to try it sometime. Another good video. Take care. I am a fan of sweet cornbread, but I usually use honey butter for that. I am also a big fan of adding chopped sweet red and green bell pepper and corn niblets added to my cornbread. And I am fine with beans for chili. No beans chili are for hotdogs. Thanks for the share. You are inspirational. I love adding cubes of cheese for eating with the chili on top yum!!! Thank you and take care!

Very satisfying to eat the food you produce. Clean and you know exactly where it came from

I just made a crock pot of chili today. Tho we have 63° today it gets down into the 30s at night still. So a good time for chili I love beans in my chili. I use a combo of dried black/red/pinto beans. Can of roasted chili’s and roasted stewed tomatoes along wit whole kernel corn. And brown sugar for my sugar to offset the tomato acidity.

I love your videos. I had forgotten about this casserole. Thanks for the reminder. We like beans in our chili, and I have used the sugar in my chili to cut the acidity. My husband and I both do not like sugar in our cornbread though. My oldest sister and her family prefer it sweet, along with my dad. I have made chili cornbread casserole several times. It is pretty yummy!! We like to top ours with cheese while it's still hot.

My mother made Chilli with beans and elbow macaroni. As a kid I didn't know any other way to make it. She grew up during the depression/war years, and she used what she had to; to make due. Also, I love sweet cornbread.

You can add anything you want to chili but to be chili it needs meat, beans, and tomatoes. I love the combination of hot and sweet so I always add some brown sugar and yesterday we did teriyaki sauce and pineapple in chili. I love this recipe! My mom used to make it and the only thing different was she would put a couple hand fulls of cheddar cheese on top. We called it Chili Cheese Bake. I also love my cornbread sweet and often with a can of whole kernel corn in it too. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!
