All of the Berzatto kids call each other "bear" - it's a family nickname using the first syllable of their last name (BEAR-ZAH-TOE)... in S2E1, Carmy says to Nat as she's leaving the restaurant, "Thanks for all your help today, bear".

Carmy wasn't in his car/driving off after Marcus's Mom passed. That was a flashback to Michael's funeral, which Ritchie gave him shit for not attending.
