The guy who dropped off the produce at the beginning of the episode isn't an actor, he's Chris Zucchero, the owner of Mr. Beef in Chicago, the restaurant the show is based on (the pilot episode was filmed in the real restaurant). He's been friends with the show's creator Chris Storer since they were little kids.

I loudly applauded when I saw Robert Townsend in S2. I was so happy they brought him back this season.

Love OG Robert Townsend playing Syd's father. I liked their restaurant table scene in S2. Also, I believe his part will expand in another season. There is a lot of questions regarding why he didn't blink when Syd was vomiting outside the restaurant, Syd's mother, why Syd has no deep feelings toward her deceased mother (true or not true?), his struggle raising Syd as a single parent, and briefly seeing him bringing a male as a dinner companion in S2E9. re: Marcus' words- "The pollen count in this room..."😂😂😂

25:38 THIS! This part! There's no need to have 145 items on a menu, and if a restaurant does, that's a clear sign they're not focused on doing any one thing well. They're doing a bunch of stuff that's just okay, but doesn't rise to the level of exceptional. If you've ever watched Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares it's why you'll notice one of the first things he does is reduce the size of a restaurant's menu so it can specialize in being phenomenal.

@@rickfuller6921 yes! Thanks for the example that proves my point. There's nothing exceptional about the Cheesecake Factory, not even their cheesecake.

@@IndomitableAde I disagree about the cheesecakes not being exceptional.

I love Robert Townsend. Did you ever see his comedy special “Partners in Crime”? It was in the 90s. So good.

Great review! You could tell you guy's enjoyed the episode. The sports analogy was actually pretty good. I followed and took a jewel from it for myself ❤

Carmy yells a lot and is really pretty toxic a lot of the time. As Rekkai says, there are too many cracks. Who wants to work with someone like that? And people who say that's what kitchens are like -- maybe they shouldn't be? Maybe it's more efficient if it's not as toxic? Chef Terry isn't toxic like that.
