I was eight years old ,and it was Sunday night. My bed time was 9. I tried and tried to talk my dad into letting me stay up, but he said no. So I went down the hall and slipped into their bedroom, turned the volume down low, and watched the Beatles on their TV.

Saludos y bendiciones

I challenge any one to name any pop song before the Beàtles that sounded in any way like please please me I was 12 when it came out and heard in he record department of John Lewis in Liverpool It sounded like no other song I had heard and I was always listening to the radio Also it's very interesting to look at the pop charts in America and Britain to see what the people were listening to before The Beatles came out and it was a complete desert of mainly cheesy ballards 1 year after The Beatlesbecame famous the charts look completely different with a whole new set of rock musicians

This was the Sunday Matinee performance, it was indeed taped on February 9th but was not aired until two weeks later on February 23rd. This was an option that Ed talked them into and he said he may or may not air this show depending on how the two live shows went. The Beatles in the afternoon noon set played Twist and Shout, Please Please Me and I Want To Hold Your Hand. They took a break then came back later that night for the famous live show seen by 73 million and on that show they played two sets, All My Loving, Til There Was You and She Loves You. In the second half of the show they played I Saw Her Standing There and closed with I Want To Hold Your Hand. The following Sunday they were on Ed's show again this time from Miami Beach.. She Loves You, This Boy, All My Loving then second half I Saw Her Standing There, From Me To You, I Want To Hold Your Hand. After the Miami show the Beatles spent the following week in Miami for some much needed rest before flying back to London.
