What a story to tell in like two minutes.. Some artists have called this a perfect song. Imagine hearing it in 1966.

My facorite part of this wonderful song is during the verse "Father McKensie, wiping the dirst from his hands as he walks from the grave. The cellos mirror Paul's voice and the effect is stunning.

Good Reaction, My Friend, and in 2022 if you have not heard anything like it then you can only imagine the impact that caused around 1965/66. The Beatles did not just change THe World of Music but The WORLD and when they arrived, this time, in Adelaide, Australia over 500,000 people lined the 7-mile route from The Airport to their hotel😀

This song was originally from the Revolver album, but it was included in the Yellow Submarine movie and album.

Enjoyed your reaction very much. Love the tension of the violins, and harmonies, yes. The later 60s Beatles wrote so many lovely and oddly different songs. I saw a wonderful Beatle's tribute band concert and it was accompanied by Evansville's Philharmonic Orchestra. I never realized how many of their songs had orchestral arrangements. Beautiful!❤

Music from their movies help and a hard days night are great also. The Beatles changed my life (and the world )my fashion my hair everything They don’t have one bad song on any of their albums they’re all masterpieces by these geniuses who introduced so many genres and instruments to rock n roll way before their time sadly broke up in 1969 but we’re still singing their songs in 2024

First song by a pop or rick band that used NO GUITARS, BASS, DRUMS KEYBOARDS...NOTHING... 3 Classical instruments used.. 1. 4 Violins 2. 2 Cello's 3 2 Viola's... Only the Beatles could pull that off... Pure Genius...

As you said, the music clip is from the movie (cartoon) Yellow Submarine. Has a great music track list and you should see it (and the others movies)

"A harsh kibosh". Sounds like the title of the latest Martin Scorsese movie! I think it may be my new catchphrase lol Btw, "A Hard Day's Night", is easily in my top five movies of the 60s, and top twenty all time! I think you'll dig it!

The string arrangement was directly inspired by Bernard Herrmann's legendary score for Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. If you compare the two, the similarities are clear as day.

Elenor Rigby was originally from the Revolver album…. And just used again on the Yellow Submarine soundtrack

Yes. And "Yellow Submarine" should never have been on Revolver. They could've easily removed enough tracks to include "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" on it instead.

That song was written and performed by people who were not only musical geniuses but bonafide super emapaths. This is nothing short of a very powerful message that sadly is more true today than when it was first heard by the masses, myself included. Every time i step outside my own door, the vast majority of the people i encounter are lonely, broken people.

You should follow this one with Penny Lane. It's an upbeat reversal of this one.

None of The Beatles play any instruments on the track. Several of the people in the clip were people involved/around the making of the film. The two women eating chocolates were the office receptionists/secretaries, the man playing with the dog was the owner of the Pub that people from the office would frequent, the man in the motorcycle helmet was the messenger boy between the office and the studio. You should watch A Hard Day's Night and Help as both films will give you a lot of insight about the boys.

If you see Beatles movies, I wouldn't start with Yellow Submarine. Start with either A Hard Day's Night or Get Back, and follow those two with Help!

Good luck with getting Beatles reactions posted, this kind of super popular act are tough on copyright. After changing hands many times, it's Sony who currently own publishing rights that are throwing their weight around , the band themselves have never had full rights to their own songs. In 2018 after a case against Sony, Paul McCartney finally won the rights to 32 of his earliest songs, and it won't be until 2026 before he can contest any further ones. Sony retain the full rights to John Lennon's songs. For first reactions I'd ditch watching any video (official or not) , they're just a distraction and rarely add to the experience, just listen to the audio first. The music is what needs your attention, there is enough creativity there without the need for visuals which add nothing to the song or your understanding and are often quite the opposite, with a film or video director giving you his narrative or random images.

The idea that Eleanor Rigby had a video for the song made is false, Eleanor Rigby came out in 1966, and the Yellow Submarine cartoon movie clip from 1968 is what we see here. I understand the You Tube frustration.

The background music is turned up too loud in this. It's better if the voice is in the foreground and not drowned by the music.

You just said, I haven’t heard anything like that in my life. That’s the Beatles. You can’t peg them in one genre of music.. listen to solo McCartney Let’s Love. He wrote that for Peggy Lee. I’m sure you have no clue who she is. Google her. Peace! ✌🏼
