Want to know what makes me so glad? I kind of wish Sir Paul or Ringo knew this, I think it would make *them* smile (an idea that makes me want to happy cry, that *I* made *them* smile after all the smiles and songs they've given us/me.) My 8 yr old Grandson's FAVORITE song and movie EVER is Yellow Submarine, and he will put down his tablet, video games or anything else, and him and his 4 year old sister will stop EVERYTHING to sit and watch it and laugh. Watching them watch it makes me so happy to know how the music transcends generations, and gives me hope for the future. If more kids could see it (RE-RELEASE IT IN THEATERS!! PLEASE!!) I think there would be more peace in this nation and maybe even the world! Seriously!

I’m 26, been a fan since I was 14. I’ve come across other millennials and younger who are fans as well. What stood out to me is the structural innovation in The Beatles’ music. Each song has a unique identity. It wasn’t cut and paste the way modern music is now. The Beatles’ psychedelic era and experimentation was also very bold, and led me to early Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett, and other artists of the era.

I came down to London From Scotland to be with him along with our parents. I was able to say goodbye but was not able to stay to the end. It was Surreal to walk past the Abbey road studio on my way to hang out with my dying brother. I thought I might visit while I was down but it never seemed appropriate. I never did. Some other time maybe. Stuart died a week or so later and in no pain. The Hospice was amazing. We had the funeral in London too and it was very eye opening. He'd touched a lot of lives. RIP Stuart. It is much too easy to say it is a song of hope. While general feeling of hope is a byproduct as it goes deeper as George was very spiritual. I hear the song and it is more about acceptance. Some religions like Hare Krishna think we should only 'hope' to be with god not to desire material things. Everything thing else will fall into place. Acceptance of our place and things that come based on our good actions and that everything will be alright.

I got into The Beatles because of my dad. I didn’t grow up listening to tracks my dad put on around the house, he wasn’t the type. Rather, I helped my dad re-discover them by downloading their songs on his iPod so he could play them while driving. It was this exchange-young technology meeting old music-that managed to bring us closer to The Beatles and to each other. My dad passed last year but during his wake I made sure to play a lot of Beatles and Bob Marley-only happier tracks, including this one. When I listen to this now, I feel a bit sad but in a warm way. It makes me miss him but also makes me hope that wherever he is, he can hear this song and know that everyone is alright.

THIS is George's best song . . . and by a long shot. His output was always low. In Geoff Emerick's (Chief engineer from Revolver to Abbey Road) memoir, he says something like that. John and Paul had material to put out (if they wanted so) solo albums --full of hits, every 4 months or so! I lived through that period and I remember the hits arrived like a landslide. The radio was an "insufficient" means to play properly the amount of great tunes they released at times almost every week! "Let it be" (the album) shows it quite well. George's contribution seems "forced" and poor. While he played simple, basic blues-based tunes (For you Blue, I me Mine) Paul had ready: Junk, Tomorrow, Goodbye, etc. and a host of hit songs that he would release in his solo albums in the following year. And to top it off, he "threw in" for that album: Let it be, The Long and Winding Road, Two of us, I've got a Feeling, and Get Back. Small fries!

When i grow up that's what I will do to my son or daughter but to put them asleep mycdad would sing take me to out to the ball game and when he stopped doing that I felt so grown up like I didn't need it anymore but than my mental health started going down now every once in a while he sings it to me and my mom so my mental health is still pretty bad but better because of them and my friends but my friends were the most of the reason my mental health wasn't good not because they were bad friends because they moved so I couldn't talk to them but new friends helped me through it and some old friends that are still here. But this song and take me out to the ball game always cheers me up

The same happens in a hospital in Saginaw Michigan every time a Covid patient is released. I was in for heart surgery and heard it no less than 15x in 3 days. It was very encouraging to the staff also!

My dog is 10 and sometimes gets sick and shivers, this is the ONLY song that calms him down. I’m literally so happy this song exists cause it makes him feel better which makes me feel better! This song is a gift! 🙂
