This was the first time that feedback was used in a recording. That bit at the beginning of the song started out as an accident when John put his guitar too close to the amp and one of the strings started to vibrate. He liked it so much, he re created it for the recording and asked the producer (the brilliant George Martin) to include it. John went on to use a lot of experimental sounds and music distortions after that. Great reaction 🥰

Thanks for taking a good look at the Beatles. First, that looks like an old boxing bag. Don't remember that video and I grew up with the Beatles. Remember, they had only had an electric guitar and an amplifier. As they progressed they became so dynamic. I am glad people your age are taking a close look at them and not just writing them off as old fashion.

Monumental recording due to the feedback beginning, and yet another great Beatles opening album track. From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Feel_Fine "I Feel Fine" starts with a single, percussive feedback note produced by McCartney plucking the A string on his bass, and Lennon's guitar, which was leaning against McCartney's bass amp, picking up feedback. This was the first use of feedback on a rock record. According to McCartney, "John had a semi-acoustic Gibson guitar. It had a pickup on it so it could be amplified ... We were just about to walk away to listen to a take when John leaned his guitar against the amp. I can still see him doing it … it went, 'Nnnnnnwahhhhh!' And we went, 'What's that? Voodoo!' 'No, it's feedback.' 'Wow, it's a great sound!' George Martin was there so we said, 'Can we have that on the record?' 'Well, I suppose we could, we could edit it on the front.' It was a found object, an accident caused by leaning the guitar against the amp." Although it sounded very much like an electric guitar, Lennon actually played the riff on an acoustic-electric guitar (a Gibson model J-160E),[9]employing the guitar's onboard pickup.
