Cimdy Style Excellent video as always from you ! This is another love song that gave great advice in good old fashioned possessive jealous vulnerable painful exulting exhilarating romance. If I Fell is such pure magic, it's only shortcoming is that it's TOO SHORT, so, I suggest you prolong the joy by hearing The Beatles perform it live in the BBC studios, which will make you feel like you're standing next to the stage as they play in a large hall (minus the screams, although some of their BBC radio performances did have audiences which screamed at the end of songs, probably having been told not to scream during the songs because it was for a radio broadcast, which usually occurred a few days after the live recording). You'll really hear the quavers/tremolo in John's voice at it's best, and Paul's subtle nuances are heard, things you don't get with the record version. There's more than one: July 16th, '64 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mF7UdJRuYrCEa9E Very different audio experience this time, awesome reverb! July 17 kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5nPo3yMlNWCpJY

Ain't that the truth?!! "These songs makes you want to fall in love." I don't think I've heard a better, more resonant commandment. This is what they do.

This album was John Lennon's high water mark as a songwriter. He wrote 10 of the 13 tracks. He wrote the middle 8 for Paul's song And I Love Her. If I Fell was one of the songs included on the 1964 Summer and Autumn World Tour. John was known to announce the song by saying "The next song is from our new film A Hard Days Night and it's called If I Fell...over. :-) Lovely reaction Cimdy, RNB

Personally I feel that John's high water mark was Rubber Soul. Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man, Girl and In My Life I will put up against anything from any time period.
@ricknbacker56263 жыл бұрын
@@dougsusie2319 Hi Doug. I was referring to quantity only. The gulf between John and Paul as song contributors was never wider than on HDN. As for quality I agree. There is no doubt Johns RS songs are flat out better than Macca's. But Rubber Soul is the last LP this claim could definitively be made. Yellow Submarine not withstanding. Cheers, RNB

@@ricknbacker5626 Hi Rick, John definitely dominated in the earlier years, 63-65. From Revolver on Paul really came into his own and from then on it was game on in a healthy way. I sometimes wonder if John's LSD experiences changed his mindset a little. Seems like he was content to take a step back a little and let Paul take more control. Just my opinion though. Like the old saying goes, "Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one" lol Take care Rick ☮️✌️
@ricknbacker56263 жыл бұрын
@@dougsusie2319 It is said that LSD destroys the ego of many of those who have taken it on a semi-regular basis. Turning the reins of the band over to Paul is a pretty good indication that is exactly what happened to John.

Absolutely beaming! Love those Everly Brothers inspired harmonies. Written primarily by John Lennon. He called it a sentimental love ballad proper. Lennon sings the lower harmony. McCartney sings the higher harmony. The composition includes a dominant ninth chord to start the bridge.

Was this the first song I "loved"? Could be. I can listen to it anew every few years and think, "So THIS is what love songs are all about?!!" Cimdy, I am SOOOO HAPPY you have learned more and more about the Beatles and the individuals - these reactions make me smile when you talk about your discoveries of their rich history. THANK YOU. You are smart.

By the way - you discuss the Beatles in decades to come. Try to imagine a decade where IF I FELL will not be beautiful to anyone's ears? I can't. It was a beautiful song then, and every year since. In a hundred years? I don't know when this will not be considered 'beautiful'.

Classic early Beatles, a John song. I told you to check this one out about 6 weeks ago or so. I see you were smiling ear to ear the entire song. This is just a beautiful song and John and Paul's harmonies are downright lovely. Early Beatles songs are straight and to the point, great stuff ! I hear some people say that The Beatles were the first boy band, this pisses me off Cimdy. Boy bands are slapped together by some slick producer who brings in usually 5 boys who have never met and get professional songwriters. That's the definition of a boy band. John, Paul and George hooked up when they were young teenagers. John 17, Paul 15 and George 14, they were true friends. Does that sound like a boy band too you ? A few more for you from their next lp, Beatles For Sale are John's I'm A Loser, Eight Days A Week and I Don't want Too Spoil The Party and From Help, The Night Before, You're Gonna Lose That Girl, Ticket To Ride and It's Only Love. You can't go wrong with any of these, trust me young lady. Have a great weekend. ☮️✌️💕
